The Arizona Sundogs put on quite the performance despite their 2-1 loss against the Allen Americans Saturday night at Tim's Toyota Center in front of 3,487 fans.

Arizona's netminder Adam Russo was stellar in net blocking 44 shots on goal but the Sundogs were unable to capture the win. Russo had a few incredible saves Saturday night, including one he made in the third period when he quickly made the pad save in the right crease and followed it up with an impressive back flip preventing the puck from rebounding.

The Allen Americans struck first tonight when Darryl Bootland found the net putting Allen on the board half way through the first period. Brett Skinner and Kale Kerbashian both were credited with assists. The Sundogs equalized the game 7:59 into the second frame with a wrister from Chad Nehring and assists from Matt McCready and Ron Meyers. Nehring's goal came on the power play after the Americans were called for hooking. Allen's Adam Pineault scored the game winning goal tonight when he chipped the puck past Russo 3:26 into the final period.

Russo took the loss for Arizona with 44 saves. The Americans outshot the Sundogs 48-46 and Allen's goalie Steve Silverthorn made 47 saves. Arizona was 1-5 on the power play and Allen was 0-5 on the power play. The Sundogs head on the road for two games before returning home to play at Tim's Toyota Center on Friday January 25 when they host the Quad City Mallards in a two-game set.
