Yes, the main thrust of the story of 44-year-old British Basketball League player-coach Fabulous Flournoy, but of much more interest to me is the ancillary story of his assistant coach (and landlord) David Forrester.

All we need is for @HCP to get Stotts to start reading this forum, and who knows--one of YOU could become the next assistant coach for the Blazers.

Gawd, could you imagine the epic, uber-emotional halftime speeches? Hell, half the people here wouldn't make it through a game without getting T'd up on the bench.

    LMao.

    I could see it now.

After every win, said assistant coach goes to the media with the fact that Stotts wont let him have a meeting with PA to convince him and NO that this IS the roster.

But then after every loss the same to demand half the roster be traded!!

Ahhh to be a fly on the wall, lol...

I do think I could be an assistant coach in the NBA (I'm naive, probably). I hope to get into coaching someday.

You're right, they should have gone with British Basketball Conference.

I could be a head coach, no problem.

I don't really know my X's and O's or like flying much or have any experience but my 5th grade YMCA team waaaaay over achieved when I coached them.

Just amazed they "lowered themselves" into playing a sport that is popular in the US. But it's cool. It will just allow them more time licking their own asses while proclaiming the superiority of their cultural institutions to ours.

If you watched the Opening Ceremony of the 2012 Olympics, you know they gave up any such illusions around the time of the industrial revolution. But hey, they have great nanny facilities.

Wait, suddenly Rasta's posts make sense.

Lol. I think I could run a good offense. Xs and Os are my thing. I'd be a good players coach (unlike Stotts).

I think you have that backwards. Stotts is a players coach. The Xs and Os guys don't tend to relate to the players as well.

Popp is the major exception to all rules.

The "good" part means I bring other stuff to the as well. Some can be both.

Anything is possible. Video assistant positions are pretty easy to get a foot in the door.

I can easily imagine you going full Pop, screaming obscenities when someone doesn't agree with you. It will be just like being a poster.

S2 members as coaches means every third loss in a row, we fire the coach and blow up the team....we'd be tanking for the draft for several decades!
