Has anyone else noticed this? Brogdon may be front runner for ROY. He was the 36th pick..

Doesn't help that Simmons has been hurt, but yeah. Other than him I don't really see anybody with great potential. I'm sure a few of these guys will become good starters or borderline all-stars, but it's looking like a pretty terrible draft overall.

Yeah, isn't this Embiid's rookie season, since he hasn't been playing? All this time, I've assumed it was his award easily.

I'm glad we have 3 picks in this year's supposedly stacked draft and not last years.

Your first year playing in the league is your rookie season.

Well, besides The Process (who isn't part of the class) it's been a bad season for "Rookies". Only one player outside of Embiid (Saric) is averaging over 10 points, it's nuts.

Remember Dunn? The guy everyone was hyping like hell at the draft? Google his stats... crazy

Terrible draft class at the top, outside of Ben Simmons. The bottom of the class had some interesting players. I liked the players the Spurs and Warriors got at the end of the first round, Dejounte Murray and Damian Jones (Jones missed the beginning of the season with injury, so he hasn't had a lot of impact yet). I also think Chinanu Onuaku, Patrick McCaw and, of course, Malcolm Brogdon were potential gems in the second round. All taken one after the other, heh.

But yeah, having some interesting players late in the draft doesn't change it being an awful class.

Yeah, we're comparing two different things here - rookies and 2016 draft class. Embiid and Saric are both rookies, but neither is part of the 2016 draft class. There isn't a single player drafted in 2016 averaging in double figures. And, Brandon Ingram, a 190 lb. small forward whose nickname is Tiny Dog, is leading the 2016 draft class in rebounding at 4.1 rpg.

So far, this is worse than even that awful 2000 draft class. At least that draft class had Mike Miller (11.9 ppg, 4.0. 5.3 WS), Kenyon Martin (12.0 ppg, 7.4 rpg, 2.1 WS). Marc Jackson (13.2 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 2.6 WS), Darius Miles (9.4 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 3.0 WS) and Morris Peterson (9.3 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 3.6 WS).

Right now the 2016 draft class has only 3 players with at least 1.0 WS (Brogdon 2.3 WS, Skiam 1.3 WS and Hernangomez 1.0 WS). That's just pathetic. Hopefully, Simmons can come back and be the player he has the potential to be. Otherwise, this could go down as the worst draft class in the history of the league.

Yep, but if you recall, the same pro-tank faction that wants us to lose this year, also wanted us to lose last year so we wouldn't have to give up our pick to DEN. They felt having the 14th pick in that shit draft was the key to use eventually becoming a contender. Right...

Although to be fair, the player DEN did take with that pick, Juan Hernangomez, seems to have a good shot at making one of the all rookie teams. His averages of 3.8 ppg, 2.8 rpg and 0.4 apg make him one of the top rookies of his draft class.

Still, hardly seems like he would have been the linchpin to our future championship aspirations.
