Awhile back, I semi-jokingly added this HCP quote to my sig: In all reality, he may not be that far off.....if not right-on.. https://lastwordonprobasketball.com/2019/10/02/portland-trail-blazers-schedule-analysis-games-1-20/ The Portland Trail Blazers schedule is very difficult to start the season. It features 13 games played away from Moda Center, with two road trips being at least four games. A chunk of these road games will also be in the midwest part of the country, making the travel schedule very difficult.(CONTINUED....)
12-8. I think half the road games and all but one of the home games would be a decent start. 10-10 wouldn't be terrible either though. 6-1 at home with 4 road wins? Not ideal, but not the end of the world. I would be most concerned if they won less than 3 of the road games in that stretch.
Recent Blazer teams historically start fast. They enter the season with a chip on their shoulders after being dissed and dismissed the entire off season. I mean, Jesus, there are NBA pundits out there saying they won't even make the playoffs this year. 1 Wed, Oct 23, 2019 10:00p Denver Nuggets - W 2 Fri, Oct 25, 2019 10:00p @ Sacramento Kings - W 3 Sun, Oct 27, 2019 7:00p @ Dallas Mavericks - L 4 Mon, Oct 28, 2019 8:30p @ San Antonio Spurs - W 5 Wed, Oct 30, 2019 8:00p @ Oklahoma City Thunder - W 6 Sat, Nov 2, 2019 10:00p Philadelphia 76ers - W 7 Mon, Nov 4, 2019 10:30p @ Golden State Warriors - W 8 Thu, Nov 7, 2019 10:30p @ Los Angeles Clippers - L 9 Fri, Nov 8, 2019 10:00p Brooklyn Nets - W 10 Sun, Nov 10, 2019 9:00p Atlanta Hawks - W 11 Tue, Nov 12, 2019 10:00p @ Sacramento Kings - W 12 Wed, Nov 13, 2019 10:00p Toronto Raptors - W 13 Sat, Nov 16, 2019 8:30p @ San Antonio Spurs - L 14 Mon, Nov 18, 2019 8:00p @ Houston Rockets - L 15 Tue, Nov 19, 2019 8:00p @ New Orleans Pelicans - W 16 Thu, Nov 21, 2019 8:00p @ Milwaukee Bucks - L 17 Sat, Nov 23, 2019 8:00p @ Cleveland Cavaliers - W 18 Mon, Nov 25, 2019 8:00p @ Chicago Bulls - W 19 Wed, Nov 27, 2019 10:00p Oklahoma City Thunder - W 20 Fri, Nov 29, 2019 10:00p Chicago Bulls - W 15-5 to start season.
huh? 2015-16: were 8-12 after 20 games and 11-19 after 30 2016-17: were 10-10 after 20 games and 14-20 after 30 2017-18: 9-7 after 11 of 16 home games; then 12-8 after 20; then 16-16 after 32 games last year: 12-8 after 20 games and 17-13 after 30 IMO, a fast start would be at least a 60 win pace. That would be 15-5 after 20 and 22-8 after 30. Last year was their best start and they were on a 49 win pace after 20 games and a 46 win pace after 30. Sorry, but Portland hasn't recently had fast starts...they've had stronger finishes *************************************************** all things considered, if the Blazers are at 11 or 12 wins by the 20 game mark, they've done pretty well.
Well I got us at 9-11 but as I said in my previous post we could easily go 8-12. What are with those start times? Do you live on the east coast or something?
