They did not draft Middleton though, they traded for him with Brad Jennings (also got Brandon Knight who they traded for Carter Williams, Ennis and Plumlee - probably still regretting that they did not just take Lakers pick instead).

I think Parker still starts for them when fit.

and I am leaving the train for any scenario where we trade up for him, if he's there at 15 ok, if not then no Zachy and I am fine with that

Still, we don't have the ability to select him. I also reckon it would be hard for him to develop here given the inevitably reduced playing time, and not sure he fits next to Dame.

True. Still, identification of talent is identification of talent, and they seem to be doing it as well as anyone over the past few years (the seemingly mediocre Jabari Parker notwithstanding).

Everyone thought he'd stay, so no one was talking about him.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
You don't pass over a great talent for need, but that's different from trading up to take a player who's not a need.

I'd say a third combo guard is a luxury, not a need. The team has far more pressing weaknesses to spend its resources on, even assuming they had the resources to trade up for him (without including Lillard/McCollum/Nurkic, obviously).

When we play just one of Dame or CJ (most of the game) we have a negative +/- ratio. Didn't check it but I have no doubt about it.
It's not a luxury, it's maybe our biggest need

If he was bigger and could defend, then yes, because he could play next to Lillard.

He's more undersized than McCollum, so having him and Lillard in at the same time would be a defensive nightmare.

How is yet another guard our biggest need? Seriously?

Our backup C is Meyers Leonard
Our starting PF is Noah Vonleh
Our starting SF is Moe Harkless
Our two Gs off the bench make $36M combined
And our biggest need is another PG? Haha.

But as you said, you know best sensei.

This is the main reason I was interested in the criminally overlooked Edmond Sumner. 6'5" true PG who can defend. Biggest drawback is his lack of an outside shot (and the fact that he's recovering from an ACL tear). Still, I'd love him as our backup PG.

Same with PJ Dozier and Derrick White. Frank Ntilikina could probably play 3 positions due to length.

I know enough to know that Crabbe and Turner are small forwards or at least more effective as SFs and I know that when Dame or CJ are on the bench we look like shit.
You want us to use 3 picks to bring 3 backups that may or may not be better than even the players listed above or package the picks to bring a real difference maker?

He's more undersized than McCollum? Did you watch his highlights?
And do you not think that our best lineup is with both Dame and CJ?

They're completely different players with below average length for a SF, so how are they SFs? You don't have to be able to shoot AND dribble AND pass to be a "SG".

    Leonard is a C. He's 7'1, slow, can only guard Cs... He's a C.

Even with Smith we'll still be worse when one or two of those guys are out. Obviously.

Usually, we have Leonard and Aminu in at the same time. That's a big reason.

I want us to use 3 picks to take 3 chance on getting a really good player, and probably ending up with a starter or 2, than I want to take a risk on another G who we don't need who's had an ACL injury before.

Again, OF COURSE OUR BEST LINEUP IS WITH DAME AND CJ.

FFS, is a rookie going to make it so our best lineup isn't with Dame and CJ?

And highlights tell you the players height, wingspan, and standing reach?

Is your love for him based solely off highlights? I've watched full games of his and stretches of other games. Have you?

Wow--crazy how things change. Linked from that article was another that listed the top 5 PG recruits for 2016. On that list: Smith, Fox, Ball, and now 2nd-round prospects Frank Jackson and Kobi Simmons. Not on that list--presumptive #1 pick Markelle Fultz.

Look. I didn't really talk to you. You decided to respond to my post, I can do without your comments if you're looking to pick up a fight with me.
If he's had an ACL injury fine, didn't know that, but he sure looks healthy to me.
Also I didn't say I know everything, I said I understand basketball better than everybody which is not very far fetched.
If you disagree with me, that's OK. I can even be wrong sometimes (rarely) but if you're looking to call me out, that's not really what I'm looking for
