Come on @BonesJones after that spectacular story, you know you don't need to justify anything in regards to who knows more about basketball. It's obvious @Blazer4ever is a basketball genius!!! Kicking the ball to the ceiling is Popovich level mind games.

If I was him, I would have stayed in college another year and proved I had recovered from my injuries and could play an entire year without getting injured again. Apparently he also had a shoulder injury this year and the year before was also shut down for knee tendinitis.

Ha. I've been a basketball coach at a high level. I don't like to drop that bomb on people often but here goes.

10 years ago my friend's kid was in a 5th grade YMCA league. They didn't have anyone to coach the leftover kids that got stuck on the team. The other coaches picked all the players.

First game, we got blown out. By the last game I'd taught them how to set a screen and pass the ball. WE ALMOST WON SON!!!!!!

The parents actually loved me and wanted me to coach more but we moved to Vegas.

But yeah, I was YMCA Popovich so if any of you dummies really want to know anything ask me.

How can a 7-footer in the post shoot only fadeaways against players much shorter, lighter, and weaker than them?

What's your guys current pipedream:? Here's mine:

    -Trade Harkless, Leonard, Turner, 15, 20, and a 2018 Future 1st to SAC for 10 and 34
    -Draft Zach Collins
-Trade Davis/Aminu, 26, and a future 2nd to Indiana for 17. (They need a backup PF)
    -Draft Justin Jackson
-Trade Davis/Aminu, Ezeli 34 to ATL for 31 (cap dump)
    -At 31, draft J.Motley, D.White, T.Bryant, J.Bell, A.Pesecniks, I.Rabb or P.J.Dozier.

Going into free agency: ($20M in cap space):
    Lillard / Napier
    McCollum / Crabbe
    Jackson / ?
    Vonleh / Bell
    Nurkic / Collins

-Trade with Boston for Jae Crowder after they sign Hayward. Give them Vonleh, the right to swap 2019 1sts and a 2020 1st
    -Retain $17M in cap space:
-Pursue guys like James Johnson (2 years, $17M per year *T.O.* for 3rd year), Zach Randolph (MLE ~ $5M per year), and Thabo Sefelosha (BAE ~ $3M)
    Lillard (35) / McCollum (13) / Napier
    McCollum (22) / Crabbe (26) / ?
    Crowder (30) / Sefelosha (15) / Jackson (3)
    Johnson (28) / Randolph (20) / Bell
    Nurkic (34) / Collins (14) / ?

Jackson/Anigbogu/Giles would be pretty tough to complain about.

E.T., Moe, MyLe, 15, 20 and next years 1st for Collins, Bell, and some of the cap space to sign Johnson and Randolph. You wouldn't do that?

I find it highly unlikely that we keep all 3 picks. There will be some consolidation for a higher pick or package a pick or two with a player for an upgrade.

Oh, and Dennis Smith will be the best PG from this draft. Mark that down.

I don't think it's a slam dunk, that's for sure. And it sounds like James Johnson is willing to take a discount to stay with the heat.

Regardless, your plan is too complicated/convoluted to even be worth discussing really. I think parts of it makes sense but I don't think I've seen a string of transactions like that since I've been following the league.

    That's why I called it a pipedream.

I feel like we could trade up to 3 though by following 2 steps:

3-way trade (Apx. a couple days before draft)
    SAC Gets: 8, 15, 20, 26, Harkless, (for 5, 10, 34)
    NYK Gets: 10, Napier, Ezeli
    POR Gets: 5, 34, O'Quinn, Lee

    SAC moves down from 5 & 10 to 8 & 15 to land 20, 26 and Harkless.
NYK moves down from 8 to 10 to get rid of Lee (saving $11M). Swaps O'Quinn for a needed PG as Well.

    We move up to 5.

    Trade Up (Right before draft)
    Trade 5, 34, Future 2nd, *Crabbe* to PHI for 3 and 50.
I think PHI wants Smith or Monk, so they might trade down a couple spots. (*This could be done without Crabbe if they don't value him*)

    Take Jayson Tatum 3rd

    Lillard / McCollum
    McCollum / Lee
    Tatum / Turner
    Vonleh / Aminu / Davis
    Nurkic / O'Quinn

? - We could trade a future 1st or two for Crowder if possible.

Do you think there's a chance of this working? If not, why not? I feel like it makes logical sense for everyone.

Should we trade everything for the 8th pick even though he'll go top 7?

Yeah there's 0% chance of this happening.

First off, no one is trading out of the top 10 before the draft even happens. That's an unnecessary risk for a team to take. And second, I think you are underestimating how hard it will be to get into the top 6-7 in this draft. There is a steep drop off in value (whether it's real or perceived) at that stage of this draft.
