Wow. The Beavers actually hired a decent coach. Only took them 25 years. With all those big time donating boosters, the future is bright. Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk
I know it's early still but how awesome would it be if GP2 led the Beavers to the NCAA tournament in his senior year? It would be OSU's first tournament birth since 1990, Gary Payton's senior year.
The Ducks have some of the best athletic facilities in the country and their basketball recruiting is still meh.
Really? The last two classes have been quite high. And Kent left the program in tatters. Altman didn't even have enough players for a practice squad. Of course whatever momentum the program the is squashed by the football team and the rape scandal. The local media does a terrible job of covering the team while selling Tinkle as some sort of savior. The blue bloods treat Altman like some sort of Midwest interloper. He's doing a great job and that the truth. But don't let the annual calls for his job from the Bald Headed Fuck influence you. Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk
I just can't find it in me to give a rats ass about college hoops. It's a joke. The best players stay for a year and overall the talent level just isn't there. College football is significantly more entertaining. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
What's worse is the same handful of programs get all of the NBA ready players. The rest are in purgatory with nothing tangible to play for. It's a sad state of affairs.
That's the real problem - you've got a few 'one-and-done' factories that have a stranglehold on the elite talent. The good news is that the PAC-12 doesn't really have one of those. Arizona is close, but even they don't get many of the one-year guys. Tinkle is a great coach, the trouble will be keeping him longterm - but that's a good problem to have compared to all the others we've had since Miller. Altman's a great coach too - he always wins. The trouble is that his program has such crazy turnover because he relies on transfers - think that's hard to endear the team to the fan base.
I don't think it will be hard keeping tinkle. He's from Montana and dude just has a small town feel to him. He's not a Cali or big town personality. He has a team in the Pac 12, one of the best conferences in the nation, which he is completely turning around.
That would certainly improve college hoops, but it isn't really fair to the players. It makes sense to keep football players in college for a minimum of three years after they graduate high school because their bodies haven't matured enough to play in the NFL. Basketball obviously isn't as physical as football so there isn't the same safety risks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
we should go after gp2. i think he can stop curry. that what we need. a incredible defense player with not bad at all offense. plus we get to see him make a highlight dunk every game
If we ended up missing out on brown, Ingram, Simmons, bender, skal... It would be kinda neat if we traded back, and were able to draft sabonis and Payton
