10. Atlanta FalconsLaron Landry | S | L.S.U.
Why? They have Jimmy Williams and a couple vets in Milloy and Schulters. They need a Corner more than a Safety. It's not that they don't need a Safety.... it's that they don't NEED a Safety.
11. San Francisco 49ersTedd Ginn, Jr. | WR | Ohio St.
Lol. Either you copied Scott Wright for this idea or both of yall got this one equally wrong. I understand both Jarrett and Johnson were gone. I understand that San Fran needs a WR. I don't understand anyone putting Ginn at the number 11 pick. That would be the biggest reach for a WR since Koren Robinson (due respect to the Troy Williamson reach).
17. Jacksonville JaguarsQuentin Moses | DE | Georgia
It's not that they couldn't use a DE, because they could and I see them taking one later in the draft. But they have the biggest defensive steal of the 2004 NFL draft and a solid pass rusher in Bobby McCray and Reggie Hayward coming back from injury next year. So they have much bigger needs such as a CB or an LB.
29. Baltimore RavensTroy Smith | QB | Ohio St.32. Chicago BearsGreg Olsen | TE | Miami (FL)
I grouped these two together because I have the same thing to say for both of them. I like the teams they go to, and would call them good picks... if they went exactly one round later.
31. Indianapolis ColtsDeMarcus Tyler | DT | N.C. State
Why? They don't need a DT. Unless you are going to project Brock or McFarland leaving for some reason. If you are going to cite their run D problems, those fall on their LB's and DE's, not their DT's. McFarland and Brock have done a swell job up front, but Freeney didn't even break 30 tackles, and if you want to see a video of exactly how not to wrap up and tackle well, watch video of the Colt's LB's. Plugging a hole doesn't help when you try and arm-tackle the RB and he goes for another 10 yards.

Falcons need a safety bad, Vilma. And yeah, I wasn't really sure who to pick for the 49ers. I know they like fast receivers but the ones they have all suck (well kind of). If Leon Hall is still available they'll get him in a heartbeat.

Falcons only need a Safety if they keep Jimmy at CB.

And if the 49ers don't trade back, why not have them take Jamaal Anderson in that spot?

    Re: The Punisher's Mock Draft

Daymeion Hughes probably isnt a top 20 pick, and I doubt Anderson and Nelson fall that far. I'd also have the Chiefs look in a different direction there, not reach for Grubbs (even though he's turning himself into a late-first rounder). Also it's Okoye, not Okeye

    Re: The Punisher's Mock Draft

I really don't see the Dolphins passing up on Jamaal Anderson. Jason Taylor considered retiring after this year so Jamaal would be a nice pick there. Even if Miami does pass him up, no way San Francisco will pass him up. SF desperately needs a pass rush more than they do someone like Ted Ginn. No one can name anyone on that line besides Bryant Young because they shouldn't even be starting. Anderson and Manny Lawson would be a good core to start building that defense back up.I really don't see the Lions taking a pick like Joe Thomas. Sure, they might put some smokescreens that they won't take Brady Quinn but I just can't see them passing up on a franchise QB (doesn't really matter what I think about his skill). With Millen under fire already and the city ready to leave the team, the Lions better take a "sexier" pick and a better impact pick than Joe Thomas. Plus if you want to rebuild an offense, starting from the inside isn't always the best. Ask Oakland and Robert Gallery.Everything else I could see happening to be honest.

By that logic, teams should never draft a Franchise QB because of Ryan Leaf, Tim Couch, Akili Smith, Joey Harrington, ect.

I see you went with Jamaal going before Gaines. Something I've been back and forth on. Gaines is more proven, but Jamaal has more potential.
QUOTE

Amobi Okoye | DT | Louisville
I don't see the terrible need for a DT. They need an OLB badly, and could use an upgrade at DE for sure.
QUOTE

Dwayne Bowe | WR | L.S.U.
He's falling way too low here.
