That was literally the worst Simpsons episode I've seen in a long long LONG time. And that's saying a lot since the show sucks now.
How much of the last 20 years have you watched? I stopped after season 9 or so. When I have caught an episode over the years it was just mildly amusing if at all.
I used to watch every episode religiously, but then just stopped. I don't know when it happened, but I catch it every so often and its just horrible.
Not too many. For some reason I decided to record last nights, and watched it this morning. It was really really really dumb.
They still have a few good episodes but they are getting less and less. In contrast South Park has been fantastic lately. The new ManBearPig was brilliant. Bob's Burgers is is the new Simpsons imo.
I stopped watching when they decided to try to compete with Family Guy..... so that was at least 14-15 years ago. The show hasn't been good in a very long time, and frankly it lost its luster when some of the key voice actors died/left. The big one was Phil Hartman.
I wouldn't say that any of the "key" voice actors died or left, outside of Phil Hartman. I wouldn't say that the Edna Krabappel voice actress was "key" anything.
The writing was what started to suck and turned me off. Stuff like this was epic..... No tv and no beer make homer something something Go crazy? DON'T MIND IF I DO!!!!
I watched the Simpsons for probably 25 years, or as long as I can remember, and the past 5 or so were just on Hulu in the background while I did other stuff on the PC. I finally stopped watching it entirely this year and it feels really good.
TV has been all crap since b&w gave way to color. Marzy says movies went to crap after the talkies came in. Or maybe he was saying that moving pictures are the work of the devil, can't quite recollect. barfo
The Simpsons is kind of like SNL. They both long ago lost any relevance as television institutions. Now they both just kind of plod on due to egos of the powerful men that started them. Sort of like those abandoned cargo ships that break tow cables and just float from one sea to another full of cannibal rats.
He was also a decent graphic artist. If you own any of these albums, you own some artwork done by Phil Hartman: BNM
