https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2859873-nba-trades-fans-should-already-be-dreaming-about#slide0 Danilo Gallinari to the Blazers Portland Trail Blazers receive: Danilo Gallinari Oklahoma City Thunder receive: Kent Bazemore, 2020 first-round pick Other than Anthony Tolliver, the Portland Trail Blazers don't have a typical power forward. Zach Collins should be a 5. Rodney Hood and Mario Hezonja are 3s who are closer to 2s than 4s. They need a more natural fit at that position, such as Danilo Gallinari. A lineup featuring Damian Lillard, CJ McCollum, Hood and Gallo would get lit up defensively. But that group would also pour in points. We don't need to extol the virtues of Lillard and McCollum's offense, but Gallinari is historically underrated on that end. Here's the entire list of players with at least 1,000 career three-point attempts who match Gallo's points per 75 possessions (19.1) and true shooting percentage (58.9): Charles Barkley, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, James Harden, Kawhi Leonard, Reggie Miller, Chris Mullin and Karl-Anthony Towns. He's top 100 all time in career offensive box plus/minus, too. Gallinari can hit threes, draw fouls and attack a closeout. He generally eschews the mid-range. He's every bit the modern 4, at least on offense. But even if Gallo would make Portland worse defensively, that top three on offense would still outscore plenty of opponents. Trading Gallinari for Kent Bazemore would make the Thunder worse this year, which would improve their draft-lottery odds. And they would add yet another first-rounder to their already absurd stockpile of future picks.
https://bleacherreport.com/articles/28598All-Portland-Fans-Really-Want-Kobe Kobe Bryant to the Blazers 1. Portland Trail Blazers recieve: Kobe Bryant LA loses: one big asshole It's been reported by BleacherReport, and even FanSided too; that the Portland Trail Blazers are in talks with the much beloved Kobe Bryant. The Portland fanbase just have grown so attached to Kobe over the years, and it has been rumored that owner Jody Allen will do whatever it takes to get Mr. Bryant out of retirement, and fill their open 15th roster spot..... More news to follow.....
He’s only under contract for this season, so in that regard the risk isn’t too high. I wonder what it would take though. A first seems pretty steep, just relative to other rental trades.
more than a little still, I'd strongly consider a Bazemore + lottery protected 1st for Gallo deal. I'm skeptical Nurk is going to be back to himself this season and trading Whiteside with 30-40 games left in the season could leave Portland a 7th or 8th seed
Agreed. I'm not sure I'd want to include Baze in a trade there. Gallo is obviously a better player when healthy, but man - I love what I'm seeing from Baze on defense.
Same. Baze is the one guy we have who is willing to take risks defensively and he's tenacious in going after the ball. Once we figure out how to capitalize on created turnovers in the fastbreak, his impact will be realized even more. I want him for the playoffs.
