MlB Network did a nice tribute piece on Thurman Munson this afternoon. Narrations by Ron Guidry, showed some highlights of the pre and post events surrounding Thurmans passing. Jim Katt also commented on Thurmans abilities behind the dish. Per Howard Coselll, Munson in his time was the Pride of the Yankees and the very best at what he did. The man was a superb Yankee in all respects and Yankee fans fortunate enough to see the man play are fortunate indeed.
I just finished watching it. Mr Clutch- .373 B'avg in 13 World Series Games !! 1st Yankee Captain since Mr Gehrig The Epitome of ~ "Give 110%", who passed at the height of His prime. https://sports.yahoo.com/forty-year...f-sports-most-stunning-moments-010941148.html
Was the epitome of exemplary leadership. Would be in Baseball’s Hall of Fame had death thwarted that eventual journey.
Have to say it was Thurman who blocked my uncle from playing with the yankees..he got to play in oneonta but never got higher than that
