Seems quite reasonable from the G's perspective.

Yeah that's good value right there for Linecum!

Even though he signed a contract, he still has 2 year of arbitration left after this right? I'm pretty sure that's how that works. He basically gave up a little money but got one more guaranteed year. Great deal for the Giants. Even if Lincecum won his hearing and got 13M, it would still be a great deal.

Yep, he's still elligible for two years of arbitration after this contract. I read that the Giants have "control over his rights" until 2013, whatever that means.

I'll assume you didn't read the part about him not becoming a free agent until 2013, or maybe you know nothing about it and are just talking out your ass.

With all the pitching we have we might trade him for some hitting though, if that's what you meant.

The Giants caught a break there, that's a pretty good value for two years. Interesting to see how he follows up those last two CY years. Could be the pressure will be on because he may feel anything less than another CY will be a failure, but he seems to be a pretty cool customer and doesn't get too rattled. I'm not sure the offense will be any better this year; expect some more undeserved no-decisions and/or losses. 17-7, 2.55, 3rd in CY.
