Enough of the poor shooting, and stagnant offense of our starting forwards. I think it's time to get Zach's offensive skillset next to Nurk, and getting more out of Dame's passes. I think it would help spur the Blazers off to faster starts, and way better looks for it's players. Nurk, Collins, Aminu, CJ and Dame. Bench scoring is a crapshoot even though Curry and Meyers have been better of late. But I feel Collins development, and game, would be better served by playing with Lillard going forward. The time is now.

Its well overdue. Aminu needs to either move to SF or fuck off onto the second unit.

But knowing Stotts, he will get fired before making any major, permanent, changes to his rotation.

Wouldn't do any good. Nurk has lost his confidence and/or interest. Collins is thrashing around like a manatee run down by nuclear sub. In both cases, Stotts must shoulder the bulk of the blame. When was the last time he did any actual coaching? Neither one of them will ever be the player they should have been as long as Stotts is here.

Why not try something “different” though. Its not like they’re going anywhere new...

Nurkic in his last 5 games:

    11.4 ppg, 8.4 rpg, 4.0 apg, 1.2 bpg, 1.2 spg, 51% shooting

    Yeah, really lost interest.

Did you happen to notice the 2 recent games where Gobert did everything but pull his pants down and stuff him in a locker?

Anything to help the team improve it's position. Either playoff position or lottery pick position.

Two games? I don’t think so. Maybe the most recent one. Good thing my brain doesn’t tell me to read much into it.

Collins struggles against bench guys. Unless we are playing for a draft pick, ie tanking, I'd rather not watch him struggle even more against starters. And I love Chief. In fact, if I could start this roster over, I'd keep Dame, Nurk, and Chief.

I think Collins struggles are just as much about who he’s playing with as who he’s playing against though.

I think his struggles arise from not being Ed Davis.

Collins has always seemed to play better around better players. I think he'd benefit.

I think it’s worth the experiment to move the starters around a bit, honestly do we really think they are in this inconsistent style of play going to do anything in the playoffs? Why not try another big man in the starting lineup. Kind of worked earlier with Layman but you could try Zack cause he’s the guy with some upside. Chief sending up 3s on the second unit would be a welcome addition.

I know there are a lot of people who wouldn't mind trading CJ but feel like we need to get similar caliber back. I am tired of CJ. Trade him. Redundancy between he and Dame and CJ either can't or won't pass worth beans. Defense? Occasionally.

I don't feel like with the Dame/CJ backcourt we are going anywhere significant and so trade him for what we can get and see how it pans out. Worst case, we get a better draft pick. Best case be become a better team.

    Gramps...

That's an interesting point. Sometimes, young players need somebody to lean on - a support structure when they are struggling. Dame seems like the kind of vet who would provide that. Of course, the coaching staff should be providing that...but that is a rant for another time!

I don't know what team has this but for CJ I'd want some sort of wing on a rookie contract that still has some potential but doesn't have to be established yet, a 1st round pick which also doesn't have to be super high (obviously the higher the better but just getting another 1st rounder helps for other trades), and some vet salary filler (bonus if they are expiring).

Something like Zhaire Smith, Wilson Chandler, and a 1st from Philly (plus filler). Maybe not that exact trade but along those lines.
