right. superstar in the bubble maybe? even then i doubt it once the games start. now players/superstars dropping out because of clusters in the bubble i can see potentially happening.
agree, it's all about then 2.1 billion. Besides, if there is no cure and it looks like next season will be affected as well, this experiment is for next season around the corner and what's at stake, as well.
If the NBA doesn't finish this season and doesn't start next season, where on the pecking order for budget cuts would this forum fall? Is it financially supported at all the Zer's?
If you can’t have a “real” season I think it’s such a * for whoever wins it. Guys just aren’t going - which I understand. So it’s not even full rosters. It’s in a weird place and situation without fans. There is no home court for anyone. Oh and Covid. It just seems like a big summer league. But it’s not. It just seems risky and not worth it.
OTOH- I think this championship will be even more meaningful because of all the obstacles that the team will have to overcome to get there. If the league doesn’t take this risk, there might not be an NBA as we know it a couple years. They’re trying. Things won’t be any better in Oct. Should they cancel next year too? Then the players won’t be happy with the new salary cap and there will be a long lockout. Kyrie and LaVar will try to start their own leagues and other players will flee to Europe or Asia or Australia. This is an important season.
More meaningful? Each team is in the same situation as one another. There's a solid chance that whoever wins will win because they had to face the least amount of obstacles.
