After six years of Rex Ryan's bluster, the New York Jets decided to turn down the volume, announcing Wednesday the hiring of Todd Bowles -- a longtime assistant whose quiet leadership impressed team officials. The former Arizona Cardinals defensive coordinator signed his contract, a four-year deal that averages slightly more than $4 million annually, sources said.
