Coach Tom Coughlin expressed sadness in confirming that the New York Giants must play their remaining two games without wide receiver Victor Cruz.

Cruz was ruled out for Sunday's game at Detroit after undergoing an arthroscopic debridement of his left knee Thursday. Cruz suffered the injury and a concussion during Sunday's loss to the Seahawks.

"Very, very unfortunate," Coughlin said of Cruz's injury. "Victor was having a good year. It would have been great to have him for these last two games.

"We are very confident that the swiftness with which the procedure was done should give him an outstanding opportunity in the offseason to be stronger than ever."
