I need to watch movies. I haven't watched Animal house which apparently breaks S2 Rules! Anyways so once a week I will watch a movie based of off s2 recommendations and review it in this thread. Only Rule I have for suggestions is no Horror movies as those tend to freak out my kids. Suggestions that were mentioned in the thread in the PTB forum are: Animal House (I'm gonna find it this weekend). 1st Review 7.6/10 Paint Your Wagon Kelly's Heroes All of Me The Jerk Planes Trains and Automobiles Dirty Rotten Scoundrels Razors Edge I'm going to opt out of Debbie Does Dallas! heh. Hook - This is one I've actually seen but it's been a while. Citizen Kane - This was one of my favorite movies as a teen but I haven't seen in so Long I'll watch it again. Umm, excuse me, but you forgot The Goonies! Lol. Another good one for the kids. Filmed in Astoria too.
3:10 to Yuma ..both original and newer versions...newest was great...Russell Crowe and Christian Bale ….one of the few good westerns remade in the modern era.
Duck Soup- My favorite Marx brothers movie. 1933 B&W. (B&W means it wasn't in color. Lol) This actually is a top 5 or 10 movie for me. Outstanding, and the kids will love it. Well, at least they will love Harpo.... Young Frankenstein "Wow! What knockers!" Lol Caddyshack Blazing Saddles ANYTHING of The Three Stooges....
I think since this thread came about because of an Animal House quote, you should definitely start there. It doesn't age super well but it's still worth a watch. And cheat this week by watching Wizard of Oz too with the kiddos.
I'm going to recommend you approach this movie exploration by actor or director as well as titles I'll watch any movie with Russell Crowe in it...Cinderella Man and Beautiful Mind, Master and Commander, Gladiator..Body of Lies...American Gangster..LA Confidential....turn up the sound 'cause he mumbles a lot but the dude can really act
