Rumors starting to flow fast and furious, but will Blazer fans have anything to look forward to?

Various members of the Orlando Magic. Aaron Gordon (they want a lot) or Evan Fournier (a late season rental with an ending contract).

Per Sam Amick of The Athletic (subscription required), The Kings are shopping Marvin Bagley III. A former top pick who has underperformed and fallen out of favor with their current team. Sounds like an Olshey bargain bin special. Nemanja Bjelica is also rumored to be on the 'available' list.

Chicago's Lauri Markkanen has been rumored to be available due to the Bulls not wanting to pay what his camp is saying they will want in his upcoming contract.

Multiple reports have made Lonzo Ball available. Daddy Ball is chirping about him getting out as well. What teams want both of them?

There are also a number of players who are available for trade that no team seems to want to touch who should be on the Buy Out list shortly after the Trade Deadline.

    Andre Drummond
    LaMarcus Aldridge
    Otto Porter Jr.
    George Hill

Given Olshey's penchant for small moves with periphery players, any hope that the Blazers do something that actually helps this roster in a more significant way?

This team is on the market and so I doubt you see a blockbuster including our only block Dame. But anyone else is tradable if the Vulcans sign off.

We need to do some ancillary moves right now before we can get in on the buyout market due to our potential tax situation. Unless, we plan on making trades where we send out more higher salary players (Hood/Jones/Roco, etc)

Also, George Hill is on a contract worth ~10 mil right now that is partially guaranteed for next season. Why isn't there a market for him in trades? I don't think he gets bought out

neil olshey after trade deadline: "we were aggressive in pursuit of a player who would improve our team, but there was no right deal to make" etc

Make a trade that opens up two more spots and leaves some room and sign Hill, Aldridge, and Porter to vet mins?. I know we can't keep everyone next season. But, maybe me win the championship this season.

Assuming the Aaron Gordon ship has sailed, I'm just not sure that NeO is going to upset the apple cart in any meaningful way. He may be active on the buyout market, but I don't think anyone (including LMA) would even see rotation minutes on this roster as it currently stands.

Since I don't think NeO is willing to trade CJ, I'd move Trent now as I am concerned he'll lose his value on his next contract (I am, however, open to keeping Trent if you can package CJ for forward or center). I'm not sure that the Blazers feel the same way, and I am not sure who is realistically available to provide an upgrade.

I also think that we are getting sneaky close to legitimately testing the Nurkic waters if an upgrade is possible. I am the biggest Nurkic fan there is, but if he can't stay healthy and this team can't establish chemistry, I think it needs to be considered. If you can get a wing/center upgrade or even a more mobile, defensively-minded bigman (a Jarrett Allen type), I'd be listening.

We actually gave up multiple picks last summer. It's not like Danny Ainge at least who just wants to massively underpay for talent and then claims a month later that he COULD have traded for a superstar but decided not to. He's kind of a snake tbh.

Of all the buyout candidates, I think Porter is most likely to actually get bought out. He's on a 28 mil deal and is not playing, and is expiring. I don't see a market for him in trades.

A Hood for George Hill swap gets us some more room under the tax line(~1.9 mil under). I would add a future second to that to see if we can entice OKC.

Then create enough room for Porter Jr in the buyout market. That would just be insane value.

    Dame/ Hill
    CJ/ Trent / Ant
    Jones/ Porter / Nas
    Roco / Melo
    Nurk/ Kanter / Giles

The amount of defensive versatility and depth that roster offers is unbelievable. Can go super small or super big at every position. It would be a shame that the keys to that lineup be given to a guy who is completely unimaginative like Terry, but it would only be for a year.

I think if we do trade it will minor but I don't see us doing Olshey will ride this team the rest of the season and hoping that Nurk can help on the defense end and rumors Zach might be ready for the playoffs.

I'd be happy with Otto porter on a buyout. Doubtful of a big deal, but still seems like something should happen with trent.

My favorite trade still is for Larry Nance. Have no idea if Cleveland interested, but he is a few years older than their core and they might like an established tall SG to go with their two short ones. I will give them a first round pick, Hood, Trent and Giles for Nance and Dylan Windler.

I guess the silver lining is that if Neil does nothing and we get swept out of the first round, maybe that will finally be the death knell for Stotts?

I wonder what the asking price is? They would probably want CJ.
