Third place. That's better than in the Aldridge years. Current streak includes two wins versus Warriors, one versus Cavs, Wolves, and a decent Miami team. Does a win against Houston tonight prove that we can make a deep run against one of the top-twos? This season has been a joy to watch, as everybody has improved his game and contributed often enough to make me believe that cohesion, team chemistry and player development could be worth more to us than blockbuster trade potential.
If the end goal was 3rd.... sure. The end goal is a championship. Is this team good enough to win a championship? I don't think so.
I would have thought Kingspeed, with his background, would have been more creative with his fake account.
So by your reasoning, does a loss against Houston tonight mean we'll miss the playoffs, or assure ourselves a four game rout and 1st round exit?
Haha! I guess a better question would be: Is a core of Dame/CJ/Nurk enough to win a championship? I guess you could add Collins to that. Dame/CJ/Collins/Nurk. Is that a good enough core? There are so many variables. If Nurk plays like he did against Miami, then maybe. Nurk has the potential to be a fucking monster. Collins is still a long way from being a consistent guy. He has the the potential to be a great player. If I had to give an answer right now, I'd say no. That core is not good enough to win a championship. If Nurk ever puts it together and starts dropping 20 and 10, and Collins steps into the starting lineup and averages 15, 8, 3 blocks and 2 steals.... then maybe. I'd say we'd have a really good shot at a title. But is that going to happen next year? I just don't know.
I actually agree with the general premise of the OT. There is a lot of value in consistency. If you can get a PG or another amazing scoring wing, then you have to make that trade. But, Aminu looks like his 3pt % is for real. He and Harkless are big parts of the stelar defense of the team right now. If Harkless can stay aggressive on offense, like the last few games, I think there is enough talent to challenge the top teams. Harkless is 24!! There are no primary contributors over 28 (sorry ET).
Yes, please make sure and clear all speculation content with Lab before posting. Premature especulation has no place on SportsTwo. Lab, I do get your point though. This winning streak has been fun, but it is true that we really won't know what we have until the playoffs are over. I would guess the players to watch are Nurkic and Harkless for this. Most of the rest have already shown playoff skills. Collins is too young to make any big generalizations off his playoff performance this year.
