Good old Cano, fled to Seattle for money, found mediocrity, then shit on his team by getting caught trying to get over. Saw a list of five potential CF whom might draw interest from the Mariners, Adam Jones was number 1, Clint Frazier was number 5. A Paxton acquisition would be nice I guess but at what cost. I'd view Hammels at 34 and 22 mil a bit long in the tooth with too heavy a wallet so yeah Texas wants to move him. I've also heard of Hammels returning to Philadelphia. There are many on this team whom I'd hate to see traded but fact is if anything is shaky on this team it's pitching. I only hope that Cashman will make deals best suited for this team to win.

Yeah, needless to say, Cashman needs to make a move or 2...we have a surplus of current players and prospects that may be used or packaged to improve this team even more.

Do not want to see a 34 year old on this team. Besides Hamel’s contract is steep
for a short term acquisition. He missed his last start because of neck stiffness.
Seattle loves trading with the Yankees; Trashman usually accommodates their needs.
Really pissed that Yankee GM has lacked in the development of pitching prospects.
Come to think of it, if it weren’t for those blockbuster trades with the Cubs and Indians,
Yankee farm system would not be rated very highly. Just a thought.

^^^Other than Severino, I can't think of the last home grown Yankee pitching than ever panned out...maybe Andy Pettitte?

Phil Hughes was Yankee home Grown. Oddly enough he was a Red Sox fan coming up, had a Garciaparra shirt captioned "reverse the "curse". The Yankees drafted him in '04 and he came up in'07. Never really liked Hughes finding him unable to finish what he started. Hughes loved to pitch in Texas, A-hole loved to hit there so the Yankees lost game 6 of the ALCS because neither could come up to expectations. Minnesota has chose to let him go. Cashman stay away from this one.

Mets sign Jose Bautista. “Better them than us!” This move is sure to backfire and
    we all know why.

It's hard to get a read on some pitchers these days, several playing for horrible teams. SP's imo the hardest of all to read a crystal ball...

I'd much rather see a Southpaw in NY, than a RH'r.

I haven't trusted Hamels health or arm in a few years; probably never will again. Tho' he's had some good years; I believe he's done for; as far as ever being effective...

Duffy 29 yrs old once a premier southpaw, has been extremely hittable averaging 11.1 H9, and a whopping 2.5 HR's/9 IP. 14 round trippers in 51.0 IP. BB's 4.4/9, Era sux at 6.88 (3.93 Lifetime era).

    Archer also 29, 9.3 H9, 1.4 Hr's/9, 5.01 Era, 2.9 BB/9; 5.01 Era (3.71 Lifetime Era); also capable of being a 200 Inning workhorse. But- still I'm not impressed.

    Fulmer age 25, 8.5 H9, 1.0 Hr's/9, BB's 3.0/9, 4.35 Era (3.57 Lifetime era), (scratching head; I've still not developed a warm fuzzy, not even sure he deserved t/ROY)...

Mad-Bum soon 2b 29 yrs old; a FA after 019, a few injuries haven't derailed him to much. 12 Mil $$ contract, not too pricy for a year++, just enough time to see how he'd pan out in NY. No doubt a workhorse 200 IP a yr SP. But, from what I've been hearing, t/Giants are going to want 2 legs, and 2 arms for him, or maybe 1 arm and 3 legs...

Paxton 29 yrs old, big Southpaw- never has thrown over 136 innings, tho' he has 2 Complete Games, 1 Shutout, arbitration eligble next year, and reasonably priced at 4.9 Mil-?? (prior to arbitration/ FA in 2021). Over 9 IP avg: 6.3 Hits, 1 Hr (7 in 10 GS), 2.9 BB's, 11.3 K's, 3.9 SO/W ratio. Yet: "Any team interested in acquiring him knows they wouldn’t be getting a workhorse."???

I read that article earlier...seemed like a. big "nothing burger" burger to me...first the writer titles the damn article in a way to suggest the Yanx might get Thor and/or DeGrom...but the immediately admits that it is very unlikely the Mets would trade either...especially to the Yanx.

Cashman acknowledged that the Yanx "needed pitching more than anything else" before Montgomery went down.

Come on Cashman. Figure out deform deal and get it done. Plenty of prospects to satisfy mets with just none off the current 25 man roster. Anyone else can be had.
