?

How many trades will the Blazer make on or before Draft night(s)?

This is fair. But hopefully he knows the rebuild has already started. It doesn't start when he actually trades them. IF it takes until February to clear the decks, the players that are on the trade block should be taking a back seat to the players that are the future. And to the first person that says they have to play and perform well to keep interest up, BS. The league knows what Ant, Grant, Thybulle and Williams do and are capable of. It doesn't appear there is a bidding war for any of them now, doubt there will be in February as well. Grant will still have 3+ years on his deal while the other three will be close to becoming expirings. Trading expirings not actually a good idea for Portland as they should be coveting them. Portland will probably be holding on to them too long and getting nothing in return.

Would this piss you off if this mystery team was the Blazers?

I would not be happy. Talk about putting the cart before the horse. Portland needs to work the draft one more season. Flagg and a few others are gonna be difference makers. Markanaan is a good player. That is also on an expiring contract. Cronin would have to have a deal worked out before trading 3 FRP's. But then that is not allowed. Screams straddling three lines and jumping on the treadmill.

Watching video of Flag against US Olympic team has me cringe at winning this season, ugh hate even saying that but this kid is the real deal. Wow he looked good against the best in the world.

If Flag wasn’t in next years draft I’d be on board with this assuming they truly believe Scoot and Sharpe are the real deal. Also I’d want to know 100% we could sign him

    scoot
    Sharpe
    Dani
    Markkanen
    Ayton /Clinigan

that’s a solid good young team with huge upside

Looks like a core that maybe could win a first round series then get smoked by OKC, Wolves and Spurs for all of the next decade.

Put Flagg in place of Markannan and it's a contender.

Could technically be true but a bunch of mediocre FRP with lots of protections that are probably only worth 2 good ones.

If it's 3 good unprotected picks yeah I believe Utah would've done it.

Utah only has like a couple days window early next month to have Lauri sign an extension and then become trade eligible in February. Will be interesting if he signs the extensions. If he does, he cannot be traded until February, but would then have more value being locked up longer. If he signs the extension after early August he can't be traded until 2025 summer. If he doesn't sign an extension by the season hed be on an expiring contract until next summer with less trade value.

So yes interesting what will happen early next month.

When I laid out who could trade for Grant I looked at the teams and only 2 teams of those had assets galore and that was OKC and not sure how that would fit since they just gave a big contact to the big man. Then there was Pels but they have Zion so unless they want Mark to play a small center type role not sure that makes sense either. Honestly not sure but I would be shocked as beep if the Blazers did that and Lauri is a very good player but going to be blunt -- he is not worth 3 f'ing 1st round picks -- PERIOD

Addon -- I would be surprised if a rebuilding team would give up that much when I believe the next 2 or 3 drafts are going to be loaded to very good so IF it was a rebuilding team that GM should be fired ASAP.

With all of the traded picks, probably not too difficult to figure out who could actually offer 3 picks for Lauri.

I was thinking there can't be too many teams that fit that description.

Yeah, I might take a look in a bit and see, once my kiddo goes to sleep, but don't think there's too many "surprise teams" that could offer 3 picks.

Brooklyn could, but they wouldn't. OKC obviously and Dort's salary matches. Charlotte could

Houston might be a darkhorse in this

Memphis could and a pairing of Jaren Jackson and Markkanen would be interesting

    the Knicks?

the Spurs for sure. Wemby + Markkanen being fed by CP3? yikes

Knicks are tapped out from the Bridges trade, aren’t they?

the two most logical are San Antonio and OKC.

Houston is interesting. They could dangle Smith Jr and Jalen Green plus picks.

Knicks have two FRP that are heavily protected and likely becoming second rounders, so they could trade those. So that's where it depends what exactly the quality of the rumored three FRP offered is.
