Holy fuck. I'll take that even not being a huge Trouba guy.

Could cause cap problems down the line but Hank will be up soon. I pray he can find a taker for Staal or Shattenkirk. That will help a lot.

There are no words for this. Holy F what a steal. We were not allowed to talk to his agent, so maybe that is why the price was so low, the risk he doesn't re-sign (and no extra pick compensation if he does re-sign). Gorton is the best GM in the NHL.

So Hayes and Pionk FOR Trouba and Lemieux...WOW.

RD currently Trouba, Fox, Shattenkirk and DeAngelo (7th dman?).

The rebuild adding kravtsov, trouba and kakko has been greatly accelerated and I think we make a playoff run this year

Agree with that. If he can dump Shattenkirk. buy out Smith they might be able to add Panarin. Then the playoffs are a real possibility.

Have to figure Shattenkirk is gone, and the D will be as follows (I always figured Smith as a buy out):

    Skjei-Trouba
    Staal-Fox
    Hajek-ADA

    Then sign Panarin.

I think we are a good playoff contender this coming season. And then are back near the top the following season.

You have to look to take that step this coming season and be a playoff contender.

Wow, i thought for sure it would additionally cost another 2nd or Lundkvist type prospect. Excellent. Could be a fringe WC possibility, maybe more if they somehow add Panarin. You'd think a draft day deal involving Namest or Vesey is on the way.

Yeah, I don't think Gorton is done. I think he deals guys like Vesey, Fast and Namestnikov and tries to get back a couple of second rounders. There is value in the second round this year.

I like Gorton moving an undersized dman for a #1 RD. I agree that he's far from done. Refreshing to see a GM who makes deals favorable to the Rangers after ears of Sather overpaying for players past their prime.

Thank God I heard JD stating he wants to get tougher on the 3rd and 4th lines. Andersson, Lemieux, Howden is a good start. Fontaine and Gettinger fit that role. Nieves is a wimp. He doesn't.

I like Panarin, but I would also look at Duchene. A 1-2 punch of Zib and Duch is quite a duo at C. With Kakko, Krav, Buch and Kreider on the wings that is a nice top 6. Add in Howden, Andersson, Strome, and Chytil in the bottom 6 and you are really onto something.
