The way this league rotates head coaches just shows it is way behind the times! All I will
remember about this guy is he chews ton of gum, does not know any planned defensive
schemes, and only plays his favorites over more talented players. Good bye.......the sooner the
    better. Next......In a great line of failures!!!!!!!A

The expected dumping of our season for a top prospect is what he's ruined.

Don't know. We are behind Isles now. I highly doubt Rangers beat Philly in their last game. Edmonton plays Vancouver at home. They could win that game to move ahead of the Rangers. Chicago has 2 games left. Decent chance they move ahead of the Rangers. We might be slotted as high as 7th for the lottery. Honestly, a top 7 pick is pretty good in this draft.

AV has kept his unblemished record vs. Devils and
Islanders. Not being able to beat your cross town rivals
should automatically get him thrown out the door
looking for another pathetic job . Can Ranger management
please get a head coach selection right!

Things really could not have gone better for us last night:

    1. We are now behind the Isles, meaning 0 points at Philly and we are no worse than 9th.
    2. The Panthers won, which means the Flyers need a point against us to clinch a playoff spot. A regulation loss by the Flyers will leave them sweating out the final game of the season (Florida at Boston) on Sunday evening (Florida is not going to lose at home to Buffalo Saturday night if the playoffs are still alive for them). So the Flyers need to play this game like a playoff game for them.
    3. The Oilers won, so assuming the Rangers get 0 at Philly, we need the Oilers to beat the Canucks in Edmonton Saturday and we'll drop below them.
    4. We need the Hawks to get 1 of a possible 4 remaining points against the Blues and at the Jets. If they get that 1 point we drop below them (assuming we lose to Philly).

So it really couldn't have been a better night for us. Get 0 at Philly tomorrow and 7 is very much in play, and I think 8 would be very likely (Hawks have to get 1 point), and worst case 9th would be a lock. Go Flyers, Oilers and Hawks.

Don't forget these are all pre lotto positions. After lottery is done hopefully we finally get some luck and finish in top 3. Unfortunately, we can also possibly drop as many as 3 slots back depending who behind us lucks out.

Yup...and the worse we finish in the standings the better our odds are to move into the top 3. Let's go Flyers, Oilers and Hawks.

Watching the frozen four i was really impressed with the Hughes kid from Michigan who's projected in the top 10 . He's only 18 but he's already pretty dynamic. His brother is projected as the top pick next year.

Absolutely no interest in Hughes with a top 20 pick. He's 5'9 on defense. That means he's worthless defensively at the pro level.

And you all had plenty to say about penguins tanking yet look at you all. Hoping to lose and move down in the standings. You should all be embarrassed. Hypocrites.

Yeah, totally the same thing. With 15-20 games left in one random season where we are bad for the first time in a LONG time, we are rooting for a better pick. That is EXACTLY the same thing as tanking for YEARS and being on the verge of moving until the NHL gave them Cindy.

Good call bro, it is 100% the same thing...lol.

Wake me when the Rangers GM/President threatens to move the team because no one supported the loser team and then miraculously gets the first pick in the draft to get Crosby.

On a more team related post I have a bad feeling that AV is back next year. Gorton will blame it on injuries as the reason why this team underperformed and AV will somehow get another year. If this were the NFL or NBA where coaches aren’t CONSTANTLY recycled I’d believe he’s gone. But in the NHL you always see this shit. Same coaches just switching teams. I pray to god I’m wrong.

AV will not be back. I have ZERO concern about that. My guess is they do some mutual agreement type of thing. He is 100% gone.
