Dern has reportedly missed weight by eight pounds. Getting to be the Johny Hendricks of the division. This puts her opponent in a terrible spot given the UFCs tendency to cut fighters like Leslie Smith who refuse to fight an overweight opponent and also cut fighters who lose.
It is total garbage, the fighter who does what they are supposed to gets all of the pressure in this situation these days. Cooper ended up taking the fight, because even if she does not get fired she will get her show money significantly pro-rated if even paid at all. So pretty much Cooper gets to fight a bantamweight at strawweight because she did the right thing.
A group of UFC employees were robbed at dawn this Friday at a kiosk on Barra da Tijuca beach, West Zone of Rio de Janeiro. The bar is in front of the Windsor Marapendi hotel, which hosts the organization's athletes and officials, who promote UFC Rio 9 at the Jeunesse Arena on Saturday.

Nunes vs Cyborg is the only fight to make sense for the women at this moment. None of those women at 135 can hang with Amanda. I feel Gastelum lost that fight. In my books Souza took rounds 1 and 3, but you can't complain about a split decision. Fight was good and as competitive as you are going to get in the UFC. Gastelum has to get next crack at the belt for my money. 185 is the most competitive weight class in the UFC when it comes to the title picture at the moment. Romero/Whittaker/Gastelum/Souza/Weidman/Bronson. A lot of entertaining matchups at the top of that division.
The fight that nobody wanted or watched apparently garnered <100,000 buys on PPV, making it one of (if not the worst) selling PPV's of the last decade.
