Gunnar “Gunni” Nelson (16-3-1) is out of UFC Liverpool co-main event against Neil Magny (20-6), per sources close to the situation. Nelson injured his knee, and will require surgery. Nelson was looking to bounce back from a first round knockout loss to Santiago Ponzinibbio (26-3) at UFC Fight Night 113 last July. Nelson has not competed in 2018, and will be unlikely to do so.
Till is the latest to miss weight. Wonderboy said he will still fight Till provided Till gives up 30% of his purse and weighs no more than 188-lbs on fight day. Till has said deal apparently, but he is not sure he can make the 188-lb limit. Seems ridiculous to me. Dude should be fighting at 185 if that is the case.
More weight classes or harsher penalties. Not sure what else they can do at this point. 165 and 175 for welterweight. Good for Thompson for not just accepting the situation.
Michael Bisping said Wonderboy is the one who comes out looking good here. He easily could have said "you're not a professional, I am so no fight." Instead he agreed to the fight with some stipulations because the tickets are sold, venue is booked, people are there and it makes Thompson look that much more like a professional. I can see the merit in that line of thinking. Thompson apparently did say if he comes in at more than 188 today there would be further negotiations. Perhaps a larger share of the purse? Any which way it happens Till comes off looking bad here in my mind.
Till made the 188-lb weight limit. We are a go for the main event. Hoping for a Wonderboy win. All promotion says the UFC wants the exact opposite.
I thought Wonderboy took the first three rounds. That said, it is well known going to a close decision in England against an English fighter is a loss every time. It is the same as fighting a Brazilian in Brazil. The crowd going nuts every time the home town fighter lands a shot rather easily sways the judges. So it is the danger you take leaving it to the judges.

Missed this event, probably would've picked the Amirkhani/Knight fight to watch given the opportunity, how was that?
30-27 Knight 29-28 Amirkhani 29-28 Amirkhani Yeah...I had it 29-28 Knight. I thought Knight won based off of his two knockdowns in the 1st and I thought he defended enough off the ground to win the 2nd. But Amirkhani is going to sleep when he fights a big striker. Was not impressed by his victory. Till gets a pass for missing weight. He seemed genuinely sorry and reportedly offered Wonderboy 100% of his purse. Apparently Till's pregnant GF is in the hospital with complications and it fucked up his weight cut going from training to be with her. Understandable...hopefully its not a habit. I scored rounds 3, 4, and 5 for Till. Wonder boy is like a BORING Machida. I like Wonderboy as a person, too..but he is way too one dimensional. He really should have won that fight if he would have attempted to do anything other than just wait for Till to come with a strike. I'm glad Till wpn and you could see a mutual respect between the two. There were times that I thought Till could have rushed him but didn't. Till vs. Usman?
