LaFlare is the favourite in this fight. Maia is returning from a long layoff and is now 37. There is a lot of hype behind LaFlare.
Koscheck will become the most prolific welterweight in UFC history (24 bouts) but is mired in a career long four-fight losing streak.

Apparently Drew Dober got screwed over at this event. His opponent Leandro Silva had him in a so-so guillotine and told the ref that Dober was out. The ref stopped the fight but Dober was conscious. The UFC has paid Dober his purse and would like to see the Commission overturn the result but they claim they cannot. Only for misinterpretation of the rules can a referee's decision be overturned.
Koscheck's contract is expired. Normally the UFC won't allow one to expire (they will negotiate a new deal before the old one closes). Their lack of interest in doing so suggests that he is finished fighting for the UFC. IIRC Koscheck has said it is the UFC or nothing for him so I'm guessing he's headed into retirement.
Jorge de Oliveira, who lost in the first round to Christos Giagos, has tested positive for steroids following the event and will be suspended for a year.
