Alves has a pretty flat nose to begin with, though. A bit surprised they stopped the fight considering he was fighting back for the last minute or so of the round. He didn't seem to be arguing to continue the fight from the stool, though.
This event tanked at the gate with only about 3,500 people in attendance. Not sure how many of those were comp'd. The lowest attended event since one at the (much more intimate) Hard Rock a few years back.
I only caught the last three fights and they were all pretty good. KJ Noons hasn't evolved as a fighter since the early Strikeforce days. Game boxer that doesn't offer much else. I don't know much about his opponent but it seemed a straightforward win for the grappler. Chuck Oliveira and Nik Lentz had a solid rematch. Lentz kept trying to take Oliveira down which seemed a mistake. Digging his head into Oliveira's waist led to the guillotine. The main event was short-lived but excellent and exciting. Condit's kickboxing is elite. Alves has lost a step or two in recent years. I like Matt Brown but dude will get rekt if he keeps pursuing the Condit fight.
If they wind-down these Brazil events a bit I won't mind. Their crowds are irritating as hell. Condit hits a beautiful elbow and smashes Alves' nose and the whole place goes silent? Are you there to watch good fights or just to be nationalistic?
Rony Jason tested positive for a diuretic following his bout with Damon Jackson. His win is overturned (no contest) and he'll be suspended 9-months retroactive to the day after the fight. He also loses his 'of the night' bonus.
