A few thoughts... Sammy Stout is not a typical 31-year old MMA fighter. The guy has been through a lot of wars. He's now been KO'd in three straight fights. Hopefully he saved/invested all of those fight of the night bonuses. Oddly his opponent retired afterward. Letourneau/Moroz -- this is the girl that beat JoJo? Not a great fight. OAM/Sims -- also not a great fight. OAM needs to be more aggressive. No reason for him to have back control for that much of the fight and come away with nothing. Also he looks very bulky and could do with some more speed. Trinaldo/Laprise -- I didn't realize Laprise was undefeated. Trinaldo is a predictable fighter and I'm a little surprised at the outcome. Cote/Burkman -- throwback fight. Liked it a lot. Both guys were wobbled in the fight before Cote's third round finish. Cote called out Lombard which is pretty ballsy. Burkman was complaining about his mostly fruitless return to the UFC--this won't help. Magny/Silva -- Rory MacDonald called Magny the most underrated fighter in the division. He's now 7-1 or 8-1 in recent fights. He's not exactly exciting but he is very efficient. Erick Silva was once a hot prospect but hasn't evolved his game. Holloway/Oliveria -- good while it lasted. Oliveria was stretchered-out in a neck brace. No word yet on what happened. Some people are upset that Holloway celebrated but I don't think he reached the Coleman/Shogun level of excitement so it's okay in my books. Kudos to the UFC for paying Glorious Sons for their song that they used throughout the event. Good Canadian indy rock band from back home.
