Thomas Almeida looks to push his record to 21-0 with a win over Garbrandt. The 24-year old is 4-0 in the UFC, his last three wins coming via knockout. With a win he seems to be the next contender supposing Rafael Assuncao doesn't upset The Snek.

Barao/Stephens reminded me of McGregor/Diaz. Barao hit Stephens with shots that would've stopped bantamweights. Stephens is a larger fighter and fought through it. Credit to Barao, though--he can take a hell of a shot as well. The same punches that knocked out Rafael dos Anjos, even. Barao should go back down if his body can handle it. Lots of interesting fights available for Stephens. Cub Swanson or Chuck Oliveira rematches, Chad Mendes, loser of Aldo/Edgar to name a few. Garbrandt came out like a house on fire. Great performance from him. Took advantage of the fact that Almeida seems to be a slow starter. A fight with Bryan Caraway lines up well. He could also wait to see what happens with McDonald/Lineker in July. Options available for him. At this stage I don't think he's ready to fight Cruz. Aljo Sterling's return fight was not a good one. He looked hesitant. At one stage he held Caraway in a sort of full nelson. Hype train derailed, for now. I hope they don't throw him in with Almeida. Let those guys build back up on their own.
