Houston was in a tailspin after they got Josh Smith last year.

Yes, I agree! It will be a disaster for anyone who comes up against us in the playoffs!

Yeah it is. That 12th pick or whatever we lost is going to set this team back 15 years.

Bet y'all luis montero will have a better career than most the guys drafted 10-15 this year

I thought making the 8th seed and getting smushed by the Warriors would have been a disaster. I still do. Getting the 5th seed would be solid. At least we would have a chance.

The last thing this team needs is another rookie. They'll be ready to go next year. It's winning time.

Having a draft pick doesn't necessarily mean having another rookie.

We have Mason Plumlee because we had a draft pick in the last draft.

They can use the Cleveland pick in a trade.

That's quite a different reaction from the one you had in the last troll thread. I guess it's a double-standard. :MARIS61:

KingSpeed, What happened to the Blazers tonight?

I'm not gonna lie, if they were bad enough to get a top 3 pick I wasn't gonna be mad about it.

    They weren't bad enough!

Call out threads are so immature. It's wrong when BGD does it. It's wrong when KS does it. We're all right sometimes. We're all wrong some other times. It's possible to enjoy being right without rubbing someone's face in it when they happen to be wrong.

If the forum collectively gives someone hell, and they turn out to be right, I think a single "I told you so" thread is reasonable.

Repeated threads are immature and unnecessary.

Then call out the collective forum, not one particular individual by name. Seems to be against the spirit of the forum.

Some fans have a never lie down no matter what spirit, some fans are if we can't win it all then keep being bad until we collect lottery picks to have that championship. I can see both but in the true spirit of the game we always must root for victory.

Not hardly. A single draft pick doesn't make or break the current progress of the team. But we could easily regress if we lose too many players and fail to add anybody. That's the problem with the NBA nowadays. The pool of talent is too small for teams like Portland. And with Chinese teams vying for talent it will only get amaller.

I thought the point was to win games. Teams that win games make the playoffs. The consensus is this team has greatly exceeded expectations by being the 6 seed and has a reasonable shot at 5. There are young players who have little to no postseason experience and even a first round loss, which I do not concede, would help their development.
