Reports that Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather have come to terms on a bout agreement, essentially meaning they have agreed on the revenue split. AFAIK McGregor hasn't been granted a boxing license in Nevada which is where Mayweather fights. His application in California is pending, I think. The difference being that California has higher taxes that would cut into their profits. Some talk that the UFC/Dana White, who will block this by any means necessary, could be circumvented via the Ali Act. If the UFC isn't involved in this fight in some way this will be a legal battle and the fight won't happen anytime soon. http://www.torontosun.com/2017/02/1...-fight-could-be-announced-in-two-weeks-report
If Conor pushes this there is a solid chance, in my estimation, we never see him fight in the UFC again.
Conor and Floyd probably have a very good legal team for them to be so sure of this in regards to the Ali act.
Rumors are this announcement is imminent. The T mobile arena has been reserved for June 10th. Rumors are that Conor compromised and will be receiving less than $100 million d/t paying the UFC Part of his wages. Today DFW was interviewed and stated that he would not stop Conor from making the kind of money that is on the line. All signs point to this happening.
With that much money on the table it's no wonder Conor is going all-in trying to make it happen. However if the UFC lets him I'll be surprised. They are the ones taking on some risk.
I don't see the UFC as taking a risk. A loss to Mayweather doesn't harm Mac, IMO. Does anybody believe Conor has more than a punchers chance? I the UFC will get paid, Conor will get paid, and Mayweather will get paid. Everyone gets paid and majority of the fans are happy.
I think the UFC would have a contingency plan I place where Conor re ups for a 3 fight contract if the UFC let him fight.
