There are interesting fights for him in Bellator, the biggest being against Michael Page. Paul Daley, Doug Lima, and Andrey Koreshkov are also intriguing opponents. Not exactly a title cakewalk for Red King.
Nooooooooooo. Dammit. I wanted him to beat wonderboy so he could get that titleshot. He would beat woodley again. Part of me is scared for his future though. I feel like he is going to be scared of breaking his nose every fight now.
I knew this was going to happen. I always saw him as expendable. He's another Florian, IMO. Good skill but not great anywhere. I wonder if Bellator ups their offer to Cowboy, if he will sign.
http://mmajunkie.com/2016/08/cowboy...d-cerrone-signs-new-eight-fight-ufc-contract/ Donald Cerrone isn’t going anywhere – at least not any time soon. With just one fight remaining on his deal following a second-round TKO of Rick Story at UFC 202 this past Saturday, Cerrone (31-7 MMA, 18-4 UFC) has opted not to fight out the final bout, then enter free agency. Instead, “Cowboy” has re-upped for eight more fights inside the octagon.
Rory MacDonald suggested (today, on The MMA Hour) that Robbie Lawler was dirty when they fought, his luteinizing hormone level being out of whack. I've tried a few times to unpack these endocrinological reports that get released and I don't have the expertise to even parse what other people say about them. Solid chance Rory didn't even know about this until he saw it on r/mma.
Bloody Elbow doesn't think there is anything to it either way... http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2016/8/2...ts-rory-peds-lh-testosterone-steroids-ufc-189 Lawler's post-fight tests show absolutely no signs of increased blood volume or any other abnormal blood work. Rory’s concern is understandable, since luteinizing hormone is involved in testosterone production and is often raised by PEDs; Clomiphene, the drug Lesnar & Jones tested positive for, increases testosterone by improving luteinizing hormone production for instance. Odd hematological results can also be indicators of blood doping, as noted above. The truth is, none of Lawler's results should have stopped the fight from taking place. While an elevated luteinizing hormone result is odd, it’s not unheard of, and the WADA-accredited lab found no evidence of any performance enhancing drugs in Lawler’s system in any of the tests. The pre-fight hematological test results meanwhile were slightly high, but the results do not appear indicative of blood doping or PED use, and his fight night results were all completely normal.
