I'm curious if it was a suicide or not. Either way, this is very sad to hear.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (The Punisher @ Jan 7 2007, 09:45 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Jon_Vilma, what??</div>University of South Carolina was named USC first (69 years in fact) before University of Southern California was "USC." Kinda like Ohio State University was OSU before Oklahoma State or Oregon State were OSU... when you say OSU, it doesn't mean Oregon State outside of the state of Oregon if you know what I mean.I know Southern Cal has been the better team in the media age, but that doesn't mean they get to steal another school's well-known abbreviation to me. You'll notice that Lou Holtz never calls University of Southern Cal "USC." That's because he remembers that no less than 15 years ago if you said USC it meant South Carolina. Like it always has. But the Southern Cal. got good and stole the abbreviation. And I, along with Lou Holtz and a small group of righteous others, do not condone theft.
