No time to post.
Don't want to miss a second.
Vazquez got knocked down in a classic 4th round, but he won the next two rounds with his incredible power.
If you missed that fight, I'm so, so sorry.
Vazquez' 12th round was unbelievable. JUST INCREDIBLE!!!!!!
He finally got the knockdown with 10 seconds left after beating the worn out Marquez from pillar to post.
I scored it 115-110 for Vazquez, but I expect all kinds of crazy scores. Some of these rounds were impossible to score.
Actually they both win, and we all win.
Marquez got knocked down with 10 seconds to go and got a point taken away for low blows.
I just logged on and was about to PM you if you saw the fight.
This guy has everything exactly right.
The only thing I disagree with is that no one will remember that Vazquez won two of the three fights.
1. Vazquez was the better fighter in all three fights.
2. If they fight five more times, Vazquez will probably win all five.
Vazquez proved that he is almost the technical equal of Marquez, who many thought going into the first fight (including me) was the best offensive fighter in the world. Vazquez did better body work, had the better jab (!), and his right hand was lightning fast and devastatingly powerful.
While Vazquez couldn't stop the assault of the incredibly gifted Marquez, he wore Marquez out in all three fights with his superior size and tremendous guts. Vazquez was always dangerous. He even won the round right before he stopped the first fight. Looking back, that turned out to be the smartest thing he ever did.
These guys proved to be surprisingly equal, and in that case, the bigger, physically stronger fighter wins almost every time. That's what happened in this trilogy.
Where do you think Vazquez goes from here?
