    Sonics @ Warriors (Sat)

    Sonics @ Warrriors

    When: Sat, Jan 10
    Where: Oakland Arena
    Time: 7:30pm

    Probable Starters

    [IMG] [IMG] J-Rich/Ray Allen
    [IMG] [IMG] Mike Dunleavy/Rashard Lewis
    [IMG] [IMG] Clifford Robinson/Vladimir Radmanovic
    [IMG] [IMG] Erick Dampier/Jerome James

    Key Matchup

    [IMG] [IMG]

What a matchup this will be. J-Rich has been playing great ball as of late and Allen has been a savior for the Sonics since his return.

    Warriors Keys to the Game

The Warriors to a win, badly. They are finally back at home where they have played excellent ball this year. Troy Murphy is a probable starter, depending how his ankle is feeling. They need Murphy back at full strength if they want to turn things around. Brian Cardinal might be the difference in this one. Musselman needs to give him more minutes. He is doing it all for the Warriors and they need him to be that spark off the bench. Give the ball to Dampier down low!

Sonics Keys to the Game by Sir Desmond

Seattle need to box out, because despite their form slump, GS are one of the best rebounding teams in the NBA, while the Sonics are one of the worst. Reggie Evans will be a key off the bench here. They also need to feed the ball to Rashard Lewis early and try to get him hot; he is coming off a good game, and should be able to work well offensivley off of Dunleavy Jnr.

    <font color="Blue">Rudeezy's</font> Prediction

The Warriors are back at home, FINALLY! They need to turn things around and saturday night will be a big start. I'm going with the Warriors at home in a close one.

    Warriors by 3.

    Sir Desmond's Prediction

    Sonics by 8.

    SuperSonics update:

The team was one game under .500 until G Ray Allen returned from ankle surgery in December. Including a victory over Memphis on Friday, Seattle has won seven of nine and moved into third place in the Pacific Division. Allen has been the key figure in the turnaround. He's averaging 24.5 points and has been especially tough late in the game. . . . F Rashard Lewis is second in team scoring, averaging 19 points.

    Warriors update:

The team, which has lost seven in a row, plays four of its next six at home. The Warriors are coming off a horrible stretch of games where they played 11 of their last 16 on the road. Home sweet home.

    SuperSonics injuries:

    None reported.

    Warriors injuries:

C Adonal Foyle (leg) and C Evan Eschmeyer (knees) are out.

Sonics by 7. Warriors are back at home, and that's a plus, but I'm not sure if they can turn it around that quick and beat a tough Sonics team.

Sonics are playing very well now that Ray Allen has come back. They are 8-2 in their last ten and they will get another win against the Warriors.

Rudeezy, you watching? J-Rich came up huge with that 3! Go Warriors!

Edit: Damnit, Ray Allen comes clutch again, almost looked like he got fouled also, this one is going to OT!

Edit 2: Warriors look like a whole different team now! Warriors were down 4, Cliff hits a fade away jumper to put them with in 2. Warriors get a stop, Van Exel sets up Cliff again, hits a 3! GS takes a 1 point lead, Warriors up 3 now with 3 seconds left.

Warriors win!!! Forget the record or the losing streak, it just feels great for them to win a game again. They looked great tonight, Cliff Robinson literally carried the Warriors on his back, going 6-7 threes, and was clutch in the closing minutes of OT and the 4th quarter. Great game! Gotta give Ray Allen his props though, he kept the Sonics in the game and had an answer for the Warriors every single time until the very end.

    Warrriors WIN!!!!!!!!!!!

What a gusty performance by the W's. They win despite missing 4 of their last 8 free throws. Recap and box score coming soon.

Great win. Well deserved. I got scared at the end with those free throws though.

Ray Allen is something else. He literally kept the Sonics in that game. Great performance by all the Warriors. Van Exel with his clutch play in OT, Robinson going 6/7 from the 3-point line, Cheany playing great defense on Allen in OT, Cardinal getting every loose ball. What a game.

And guess what? My prediction was exactly CORRECT, Warriors win by 3!

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Clifford Robinson's long-distance shooting helped the Golden State Warriors snap a long losing streak.

Robinson made 6-of-7 3-pointers, including a go-ahead shot from the arc with 41 seconds left in overtime, as the Warriors edged the Seattle SuperSonics, 113-110, to snap a seven-game skid.

Jason Richardson added 25 points and 11 rebounds for Golden State, which had not won since beating Sacramento on December 26.

The Warriors trailed, 110-106, before Robinson made a jump hook with 1:07 remaining, then connected from the arc 26 seconds later.

After Ray Allen mised a turnaround jumper, Richardson split a pair of free throws with 13 seconds left to make it 112-110 and Rashard Lewis missed a 3-pointer from the right corner with five seconds to play.

Nick Van Exel made only 1-of-2 free throws, however, giving Seattle one last shot. But after a timeout, Lewis missed a turnaround 3-pointer and time expired.

Allen scored 28 points and Lewis 25 for Seattle, which had won three straight games and six of seven. </div>

Jrich and Van Exel should have put them away with free throws. Kind of an ugly finish, but a win nonethless. The team hustle was great.

Once again Cardinal was in there in the final minutes and he was everywhere. The guy is a good solid player and does everything right, except for missing a FT of coarse.[IMG]

I wish more fouls would go his way though. He gets called for blocks and touch fouls all the time when he was clearly outhustling his opponent.

He took two charges against Allen that ended up being "no calls". Atleast they didn't call a block and give him his 6th foul. I think after this year he will earn some respect in this league and will start getting those calls.
