Ancelotti: We Are Missing Ronaldo

Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti has admitted that the team is suffering in the absence of star striker Ronaldo.

El Fenomeno has yet to play this season due to a knee injury and the Rossoneri have struggled badly to score goals without him.

The only other two senior strikers in Milan’s first team squad are Filippo Inzaghi and Alberto Gilardino.

Inzaghi is now 34 and has failed to hit the back of the net since the 2-1 victory over Benfica on September 18. He has also not scored in Serie A for 10 months.

Gilardino has struggled too for most of the campaign and was booed and jeered by his own supporters after going the first nine matches in all competitions without scoring.

Although Gila has recently improved, very few see the ex-Parma man as the long-term solution to Milan’s requirements up-front.

“Certainly at the moment his [Ronaldo’s] absence is hurting us.” confessed Ancelotti.

“However I am sure we can solve our problems without him.”

Ancelotti also confirmed that Massimo Oddo, who missed Sunday’s defeat to Roma, will not recover in time for tonight's match at Sampdoria.

“Oddo will not recover, however Emerson is now available again.” the ex-Parma tactician concluded.
