Are we out of the Rose Bowl race? Stanford did lose to Utah, but would a loss agains them propel them to the PAC-12 championship and we are on the inside track for a BCS bowl? If so, which BCS bowl would accept us? Fiesta against Baylor? Sugar against some SEC team Or Orange vs Clemson?
Re: If we lose to Stanford... If we lose to Stanford and both UO & Stanford tie for the division, then Stanford plays for the PAC-12 title as they won the head-to-head game. I think there is no question we'd get an at large selection to a BCS game at 11-1. But, if at the end of the season 'Bama, OSU & FSU are undefeated, then "Bama/FSU play in the natty, OSU plays Stanford in the Rose Bowl and UO probably plays in the Fiesta Bowl against whomever.
Re: If we lose to Stanford... I wouldn't complain then. Who wouldn't want to see that scorefest of Baylor vs. UO? Plus it's another BCS bowl to continue our streak Also, for some reason, QBs who win a Natty don't really do well in the NFL. And I do want Mariota to succeed in the next level. But if we win and get to the natty, I'm not complaining.

Re: If we lose to Stanford... It would be the Big 12 champ again, although there is a chance that the Orange Bowl could take Oregon as an at-large, since I believe they have first choice of at-large teams this year. There is a chance that the Ducks could be left out of a BCS game, though, is Northern Illinois or Fresno State qualify. Let's say Oregon loses a game to Stanford in this hypothetical, and the other unbeaten teams win out. BCS title game: 'Bama/FSU Rose Bowl: Pac 12 champ/tOSU Fiesta Bowl: Baylor/BCS at-large (2nd choice, I believe) Orange Bowl: AAC champ (Louisville/Cincy/etc.)/At large. A one-loss Clemson would be the Orange Bowl's pick, I believe. They then would get last pick (NIU of Fresno?). Sugar Bowl: NIU or Fresno/At large. Assume that either LSU or Auburn will be BCS eligible. One of them gets the bid. In this scenario, teams in the mix would include Wisconsin/Michigan State/Oregon/Stanford (if they lose Pac-12 title game)/Oklahoma??? Oregon would be selected over Stanford, based on fans traveling, but a 2-loss OU may be more attractive in terms of selling seats than a 1-loss Oregon for the Fiesta Bowl, considering Oregon played in it last year. It's possible that both Oregon and Stanford could be shut out of BCS bowls if Stanford beats Oregon, then loses to ASU/UCLA/Arizona/USC in the Pac 12 title game. Meaning Stanford would be in the Alamo Bowl, and Oregon would likely end up in the Holiday Bowl. It would be interesting, to say the least.
Re: If we lose to Stanford... Losing is not even an option! We win and win in style! Stanford is a great team but we are elite this year! Marcus's name on the Heisman with this game!
Re: If we lose to Stanford... After last year's NIU debacle I am not so sure Fresno State or NIU get a sniff.
Re: If we lose to Stanford... It one (or both) of them is in the BCS 12, the higher ranked of the two would be in a BCS game automatically, or if they are in the BCS Top 16, and the winner of the 6 automatic qualifier is ranked lower, then the higher ranked of NIU or Fresno would get an automatic bid. Neither will get an at-large bid, but if they hit the above criteria, they can't be denied a BCS bowl, no matter how terrible they are.
Re: If we lose to Stanford... Yeah, but just replace "AAC Champ" with NIU/Fresno. You don't get two scrubby teams getting automatic berths.
We can't lose to Stanford two times in a row, can't let them knock us out of the title race 2 years in a row, they've not looked nearly as dominant as us this year. To beat them at their place will be so sweet!
their D Line is banged up and lacks depth. In a rivals chat with the main Stanford writer, he said that the D-Line rotation for their 3-4 only has 4 guys left in their rotation. Pretty much guaranteed they'll be gassed by the 2nd half I'm expecting a comfortable 20+ point win STOMP
