Keys to the game Offense Run the ball - In Dallas' loss to Philly at home last year, Dallas threw the ball 36 times and ran the ball only 13 times. Dallas needs to establish a strong run game to avoid 2nd/3rd and long, where Philly will look to blitz. Protect Romo - Romo needs time in the pocket to hit his receivers downfield. Romo was spectacular in Philly last year, but in Dallas, the protection struggled and so did the Cowboys. Find Witten - Witten has had some big games against Philly and with Philly's excellent CB situation, the WRs for Dallas could be bottled up. Witten is great at finding the soft spots in zone defenses. Witten can exploit the LBers/Safeties Philly throws at him. Defense Pressure McNabb - McNabb may not have the WRs Dallas has, but he still puts up gaudy stats when healthy and given time. Dallas needs to counter this by putting pressure on McNabb, forcing him out of his comfortable pocket and making him throw on the run. Locate Westbrook - Westbrook is Philly's biggest weapon, whether it be running the ball or out of the backfield. Philly figures to use a lot of screens to counter an aggressive Dallas' blitzing scheme. Dallas will need to limit Westbrook in order to keep blitzing. Take away the deep stuff - McNabb likes to go deep. Force McNabb to march the team down in methodical drives. McNabb will take chances downfield and Dallas needs to be ready to punish McNabb for some of the risks he'll take.
Nice Zach Thomas sig. I think he's going to be a pretty important part in this game in containing Westbrook.
Newman will play tonite; but only in nickel packages. Adam Jones will start. This is sort of good news. Good to hear he is playing; bad news that he isn't starting. I hope he is ready, we'll need him.
I'm going to get soooooo drunk for this game. I can't wait. Going to be awesome. Watching Dallas pwn noobs, alcohol, trivia at the bar = free money, and probably some food.
Brian? I was wondering where you went. Get ready for a beatdown. (Admittedly, I am starting to get nervous)
lol I'm here. Cool and collected before the big game like the Eagles So, any guesses on how many passes Romo will throw to Lito? I predict at least one will be taken back for a touchdown!
