They showed the replay on TNT; it looks bad and is likely a snapped achillies which would put him out for obviously the season and possibly well into next year. He couldn't stand up when it happened and just laid on the court. Can't remember Wes ever doing that before. Really sucks as this is the first year we've been a legit contender since probably 2001 and I just don't see it happening this year without Wes. We might be able to win a playoff series and I guess we'll see what CJ, Crabbe and other backups can do.
Man I hoping for the best but this could obviously affect his contract next year. Sucks for him financially, personally and professionally.
They showed clips of Wes being helped off the court and he couldn't stand on the leg. Rebecca Harlow just reported outside the locker room Wes was hitting a table so loud with his fist it moved into the hall. Paul Allen looked very disappointed too. Well the Lopez/Aldridge/Batum/Wes/Afflalo/Lillard core will go down as never losing a game when healthy; 4-0. Too bad we didn't get to see more of it. Devastating news.
Who gives a fuck about up comming contracts. Wesley earned any money comming his way and all I care about is that he is ok.
This may keep in him Portland on his next contract. I hate to say it as I want him for our playoff run, I don't know a team that will give an injured player a decent contract. What is an achillies, 8 or 9 months out, so you're looking at him being back around all star break next year?
Pre-injury he would've gotten a $12-14m/per deal. Now? Probably somewhere around $10m. Still doubles what he currently makes.
Change the title of this thread to "Wes injury." People will take that as news and it is not. Let's wait for the actual news.
