Already trying to predict how things will fall here. I'm thinking Curry, Harden, and Westbrook are locks. Kobe is likely. Then you have Kawhi Leonard and Kevin Durant. Also Gasol. Blake Griffin will probably be voted in. Cousins. Anthony Davis. If Harden is counted as a SF, that leaves room for 2 more guards. These are the candidates for those two spots: Chris Paul, Damian Lillard, Eric Bledsoe, Rajon Rondo, Klay Thompson, Ricky Rubio, and CJ McCollum. My guess would be Paul and Lillard because they've been there before BUT how can you leave off Bledsoe who is killing it and his team is playing better and what about Rondo, the league leader in assists? Plus, do the Warriors only get ONE All Star or do you give Harden the guard spot and give a forward spot to Draymond Green? I guess it's gotta be this then.... Curry Harden Kobe Westbrook Kawhi Draymond Durant Gasol Griffin Cousins AD Bledsoe Then Kobe bows out and either Dame or Paul get the spot. Nobody likes Rondo and you can't have 2 Kings. Also, no Aldridge and no Dirk. No Dallas player for that matter. And a player like CJ might make it if he played in East. Most of the great guards play out West. What do you think?
Guarantee you Thompson gets in just because of how the Warriors are doing, but to this point he doesn't deserve it. And the moronic fans better not vote Kobe in.
Kobe is starting and playing SF on the Lakers. They changed the voting from positions to just Guard or Frontcourt. That means Kobe (if voted in by idiot fans) should be Frontcourt provided the NBA lists him on the ballot in the spot they should.
LMA's All-Star days are over. Not because he's playing less - he's a role player now. I don't know if anyone caught the Den/Sas game last week but Jokic, who was guarded by LA almost the entire game, went off - 23/12/2/3.
Draymond Green definitely makes it; he's far more important than Thompson. Rember these are the coaches votes and every coach wants a Draymond. Edit I missed you listed him was looking for a Green.
I just can't see Dame making it if we are not having a very successful season. Didn't he only make the last two because of injuries to other star guards? This is just the era of the guard, SO many good ones out there.
Judging by the way opposing announcers have taken to gushing over Lillard, I say he gets in. Curry, Westbrook and Lillard - you can have 3 PGs and Conley always gets overlooked. Bledsoe isn't going to make it. No Sun is. [Edit: DUH. Forgot about Chris Paul. I still think Lillard makes it because they can count Curry as a SG.]
HCP you noob. He was voted in by the coaches for his first A* game. He was put in by the commish for this last one though.
Everyone is turning on Kobe. I don't think he gets in. His numbers are atrocious and I think he's losing a lot of fans.
True, but coaches historically don't like rewarding players on losing squads. I love Dame and want him there, but somebody has to NOT make it. It's unfortunate they let the fans vote.
Westbrook was playing, but he had missed most of the first part of the season, so he didn't deserve to go. Kobe was on the team and CP3 was on the team, but I think they ultimately had replacement players. People were butthurt that Dragic didn't make the team and Dame did. Nevermind, Paul was on the team. http://www.nba.com/allstar/2014/players/
Regardless, I'd rather he got the rest. Remember when the coaches voted in Conley and not him last season ( If I remember correctly)....... he took that real personal. This kid doesn't need any fuel, but he looks for it. I love that about him.
HCP..... do you even pay attention? Conley wasn't an All-Star last year. I don't think he's ever been an All-Star. http://www.nba.com/allstar/2015/players/ The guards last year who were voted in by the coaches were Klay Thompson Russ CP3 Harden The starters were Curry and Kobe. Honestly, looking at that list, it's VERY possible the same guys will get the nod this year as well.
He did take it personal, and then he sucked the second half of the season for the most part, right? Id like to see Dame take the next step in maturity and not let the media and naysayers drive his motivation. Drive it himself. Not saying he doesnt, but I think its time to leave the fuel from negativity behind and just lead.
