LMA was just laughing it off after he missed that shot. This wouldn't be the first time as I've noticed this is his usual reaction after missing game winners. And then the team huddled for a fist bump. They weren't marked by obvious frustration and anger like a Kobe-led or Durant-led teams would but seemed like "it's okay maybe next time." I'm not necessarily ragging on them for this, just pointing out that it is unusual to see. Do you think this is a good thing or bad thing?
Green font? I'm confused as to the context and perception of this post. What's your inflection with this? Considering your jumping overboard mentality, I can assume... but i'll let you have your say.
Being 50 some years old..... I have heard this question asked and debated....many times for various sports. Quite frankly I think the question needs to stop being asked. The expression on a players face during or after a game does not tell us shit. It does not tell us how many hours the loss is going to keep certain players up at night rehashing the game or tell us how much a player cares about each loss. So I guess my opinion is it is neither a good nor bad thing because how they react on the court/field after a loss does not relate to how they play the next game. Which to me is more important. Every player shows emotion differently.
The players didn't go all "season's over!" after one loss. They stayed under control and didn't lose their cool. The same quality that is often credited for so many of their victories in close games. I can live with it.
I smile and laugh at horrible things, tragic things, disasters and deaths in the family... literally; it's a thing I can't not do. It's a stress valve. Maybe LMA is the same.
As people have been saying about this team--they don't get to high when they when or low when they lose.
Just go listen to the post game interviews by the blazer players... They sounded very irritated by the loss. Hopefully they really decide to ramp up the defense next few games as that's what they seemed to focus on in the interviews
The refs gave Miami star treatment. Blazers played quite poorly and had to lose to a game winning prayer. Lamarcus just witnessed bosh hit the luckiest shot of his career. All in all I'd say I'd have to laugh too in his position.
I only saw one or two calls that were questionable. I didn't think it was that bad. We played (see: passed) like shit. Bosh does hit those shots. He hit 2 earlier. Tip the cap, their defense was spot on. We got beat. No biggie.
I laugh too when I fuck something up, and can only blame myself. It doesn't concern me in the slightest that LA laughed at his missed shot. LA seems like a really authentic dude to me. Going all agro and demonstrative, swearing and flailing one's arms about to "show that you really care", is one of my least favorite things about sports, really.
I think every loss is always a wake up call for addressing mistakes. I have less of a problem dealing with losing to the Heat by 1pt at the buzzer than losing the game opener in Phoenix. We played an ugly second half and still almost won this game. They made plays down the stretch. I say move on and deal with it, we'll probably lose another game before the playoffs. As for LaMarcus, where would we be without him? He missed a couple of shots...so did Wade. I say cut LA some slack here!
