Kings fans have to be absolutely livid after last night's lose to the Heat. The Kings fought back to tie the game and send it to overtime. Then they watched the Kings fight back from 7 down and a chance to win the game on the final shot, only to see Bibby get clearly fouled by DWade on his drive to win the game. Bibby was grabbed on his way to the basket, then bumped, and then raked across the arms, but the refs swallowed their whistles. All night the officiating was terrible, but you have to make that call at the end of the game when the offensive player is making an aggressive move to the basket. Bibby wasn't looking for a bailout foul call, he was trying to lay the ball up and got hit 3 times on his way to the rim. I was also blown away at the coaching decision Musselman made by putting John Salmons on Wade in OT. John Salmons is a decent player, but he's a terrible defensive matchup against Wade. The Miami Heat only have one option on offense, Wade, and you know he's going to take all the shots in OT to give his team a chance to win. When you have the league's best defender, Ron Artest, you have to put him on Wade and force the other Heat players to beat you. Not until Wade scored Miami's first 7 points, did Musselman finally switch Artest on Wade. On back to back possessions Artest caused Wade to miss, and also created a turnover.
I attended the game last night, and I completely agree with you. I was sitting behind the King's basket when Bibby went for the layup, and everyone clearly saw at least two different fouls. I've never seen a game end like that, not in all the time I've been watching basketball. There was no whistle, no call, and the clock just expired, nothing happened. Then the announcer says there's a foul on Brad Miller, and everyone just got up and left. Ridiculous. And if any player or coach says anything about it...they get fined. What are you supposed to do? Wade had gotten the same call at least 5 times last night, the officiating was horrible. The people around me said it was a foul, the Kings players thought it was a foul, the guys on the radio afterwards thought it was a foul, TNT thought it was a foul...the only people who didn't think it was a foul were the refs. I'm still mad about it. edit: does anyone have the replay of it? I haven't seen it.
lol whats new? Theres a long history of the Kings getting shafted by the refs. I was watching the game on tv and it wasnt quite clear to me whether bibby was fouled or not.
