I'm sorry, but i can't stand the guy anymore. He actually made me angry while the team led by 50, who would do such a thing? I'll tell you who! this fucking guy can! So what's your preference? how should Neil deal with this problem? Also, can this be the new Meyers emoji ?
If he has improved then he will be good to be at the end of the bench just in case and if he hasnt improved then he needs to be at the end of the bench. Long story short with our front line depth he isnt going to play
He's locked in as the 4th string C. He's insurance in case of injury to Nurk/Ed/Zach. It's not like he's taking up PT from others who deserve more. And he's not a malcontent. No point in waiving him and keeping $10 mil on the books.
Every team needs a backup backup center. If he never plays, then we had great frontcourt health all year. If we have a spate of injuries, he'll see time, and will provide value. I'm not going to shed a tear if he is included in a mid-season trade, but I'm certainly not hoping for him to be cut. If the only consternation he causes is not playing well during garbage time, then we don't really have much to complain about.
I know preseason doesn't mean that much, but the guy did average something like 18 pts/36, 11 reb/36 shooting like 70% from three. I would give him a few games to see what he does. I am ready to move him though, primarily based on his defense. We have plenty of guys at the 4-5 who defend better than he likely ever will and I would rather they got the minutes.
He WILL take PT from Collins, i guarantee it. Stotts likes Myers and he likes experience. I'm pretty sure MyLe's softness and insecurity is bad for our momentum and morale. It's true that PA will keep paying him in case he gets waived, but think about all the potential players we could tryout with his spot.
Regardless of liking him, or hating him, or not caring enough to have 50 threads about him.......from a luxury tax standpoint his 10 million is the one I would try to move...over all the other 13 contracts. This is purely based on the amount of the contract and his future position on the depth chart. If it were not for the repeat offender rule, I would not care one way or the other. He is fine for a 3rd center on the team. Just not in our team salary scenario. Something like O'Quinn's 4 mil ending contract is of course ideal. Or to a team who is hit with a season ending injury and needs a center who can shoot to help out. Not holding my breathe.
I think the fact that he played so little in a blow-out game shows that the organization is also ready to move on from him, but at the end of the day, until someone is willing to take him - he is here - so I would just let him play a little every once in a while in the hope that he either proves us all wrong or builds his trade value.
He will have his time where the Blazers need him and he will produce. He is the 14th roster spot on the end of the bench. This is about where he should be. But if Nurk goes down for a couple games. The Blazers will indeed use him when they need him. Trade him if possible sure.... But right now he is hurting nothing and might be the body they need at some point.
