I don't think any Grizzlies will be All-Star this season. Jason Williams has the best chances. I honestly think the first ever All-Star to put on a Grizzlies uniform will be a player that we recieve from a trade.
No one. Marbury, Francis, Nash are better. Van Exel(now that he will be starting), Miller(new/better situation), Cassell, and even Parker could all make strong runs at it too. And dont count out fan favorite; Gary Payton. Same situation with Gasol. Duncan, Garnett, Webber(when healthy), Brand, Nowitzki are all ahead of him, as PFs go.
If JWILL will avg 18 points and 8 dimes and have the same assist 2 turnovers ratio he has a chance to make it .
If Jason Williams puts up those numbers then he will have a chance to make it, but odds are that he won't.
I am not saying that odds are he won't get those numbers. I am saying that odds are he won't make the All-Star Game with those numbers. Steve Francis is bound to put up better numbers next season. Francis has a great chance of putting up twenty-eight points per game along with eight assists per game.
I don't care if Jason Williams never turns the ball over again. He will not make the All-Star Game with those numbers unless the fans vote him in.
Fans are going to look at it like this: Francis, 28ppg and 8 apg Williams, 18ppg and 8apg (These are just using the numbers already used in this thread as an example). They will not look at TPG. Most people that vote will take higher ppg over better apg-tpg ratio. Its how it works. Williams has somewhere between zero and nil chances at being an all-star this year.
No they won't. I bet you anything that coaches would take Nash, Francis, Marbury over Williams. Hell, pretty much all the GMs would.
JWill, you have to put away your bias when you are posting about your own players talents. JWill is not an All Star. Nor is he a scrub. Last year, he proved he can be a good PG capable of being a good leader. Thats what Memphis needed. Williams most likely will never be an All-Star. But thats not needed. You have to go back to the Detroit Pistons championship to find the last time an All Star PG was on a championship team.
Wow. Congrats to him. MJ was the MVP in 1998. But did anyone expect him to win the MVP when he came back to the Wizards? No. Jermaine O'Neal never received solid All Star consideration until last year. Was he in the running the year before? No. It doesn't matter what has happened in previous years. THE VOTING TAKES PLACE EVERY YEAR.
