Watching Zach Collins, I am trying to understand who he can be. So far, he reminds me of Tom Chambers, which ain't a bad thing at all. But I know there has to be a better comparison. So who is it?
Chambers was an explosive leaper and an athlete, Collins isn't. Collins is Big. Collins has very strong Fundamentals. Remind you of anyone? OK, I am loathe to compare him to Tim Duncan because some will freak out. Collins isn't obviously on a HOF trajectory, and he is also not black. TD also played 4 years. Nevertheless, Collins is good for the same reasons TD was.
Demeanor, BBIQ and fundamentals are vaguely reminiscent of Duncan. Long ways to go but here’s hoping he’s even a poor man’s Big Vanilla Fundamemtal.
Can I cheat and travel forward in the Delorean a few years? Okay..... He reminds me of a white guy. A big skinny white guy.
Yes his footwork reminds me of McHale, but not his post up quite yet. The thing about McHale...he had the 2nd longest wing span in the NBA....ever, at 8' https://www.thesportster.com/basketball/top-15-most-impressive-wingspans-in-nba-history/ But I love that Collins can shoot with either hand around the basket. The kids has skills for sure. Can't wait to see the finished product.
