Can't believe they got him with the 44th pick.... could he be the best player ever drafted that late? He's got a 26 per this year.... and 7 WS I don't consider Thomas to be that great... so he's not even in the running, in my mind.
After seeing Nurkic, his rookie year, it was hard to believe that he was being outplayed by jokic. Until I saw jokic play... they had 2 of the best young centers in the league. Nurkics injury probably paved the way for that.
I love Nurk, but Jokic is definitely the better overall player. He's basically already done for the entire season what we've been drooling over from Nurkic over the past 8 games...plus has range out to 3.
Nurkic is great but Jokic has insane shooting and passing skills for a big man. I saw him make this arc pass recently that had I seen it 20 times I wouldn't have believed possible. But of course, I would never say that shit to Nurk's face!
Don't ask a nuggets fan. Lol. The reality is this; they are both really good, and even if jokic is better, it doesn't justify selling low on Nurkic. I also think it's kind of ironic that Denver fans are calling Nurk out for being selfish. By not playing, Nurkic is essentially losing future earnings. He knew he was too good to sit. It's easy for fans to preach about being a "team player," but this is a young professional being held back from earning a lot of money. Maybe it's actually the fans that are selfish. Look at Plumlee. Before the trade he was probably looking at a contract that started at 15 million, maybe even more. Now? He'd probably be lucky to get 15.
Hah! Fair point. True, our decision was a little different. But, we were ALSO suffering from having a front court player not playing adequate minutes because of a perceived better player starting in front of them.
Both guys are excellent players and will be great in this league. Could it be that Nurkic is a better fit for our team? He really has what our team is missing. Inside presence at the 5 who can score, rebound, assist, block shots, and clog the middle. He can finish around the Rim, he is very mobile and has great hand and amazing footwork for a big man. He can play inside very well. He can step outside and hit the Jumper. I mean ... it is not even as if we had to chose between both. We have one guy who has mad basketball skills and a great IQ. He is surrounded by an existing core of very good players, who have underachieved this year, we just need to maximize what he can do for our team...
