Vucevic killed us tonight, so specifically looking at the 4/5 positions, who do you think is our best post defender?

I picked Other. Our best post defender is our porous perimeter defense because teams rarely need to bother with post-ups.

Everyone hates Meyers but he's our best post defender...kinda surprised he literally gets zero love on here for post D

Part of the reason I started this thread is because I'm concerned that Leonard is our best 4/5 post defender. That's not a specific criticism of Leonard, it's a concern about the structure of our roster. I'm not panicking about it, just noting that it's an area that needs to be addressed (either by personnel, or by defensive scheme).

I agree that Lillard is a good post defender of players of a similar size/position. But he can't defend 4/5's.

Leonard but he's allergic to the post. Stotts thought if he didn't feed him peanuts he wouldn't become allergic. Turns out new science has proven feeding peanuts while a baby will guard against allergy growing up.

I think it is Leonard as well. Against bigger players in the paint, he has been as effective as anyone. Bigger centers like Gasol and Cousins are his best matchups and his defensive rating at the rim is pretty good. He doesn't have the lateral quickness to stay with anyone out on the perimeter. The best out there is Vonleh and then Plumlee of the 'bigs'. (I don't really consider Aminu a 'big')

Too bad Meyers as ZERO offensive game in the paint.

In fairness to us, it's only because we've seen him play.

Offensive players literally get anywhere they want against him.

If Meyers has indeed become our best post defender, why not use him as a Center? His offensive game would make him a stretch 5 but that's not nessecarily a bad thing.
I think he could become a very key player for us. He's the most talented big we have offensively and we need some talent besides Dame and CJ on offense

The fact he can shoot the ball doesn't really make him talented offensively. And let's pretend he can shoot the ball because the %s are atrocious. Then Jodie Meeks for example is super talented, maybe we make him our go to guy?

Meyers is a 7ft candlestick, nothing more.

He can shoot (sometimes) but he is pretty useless around the rim offensively. Basically he is a center who has no center skills.
