1. The Houston Rockets 2. The OKC Thunder 3. The Boston Celtics National: Reggie Miller, Jon Barry and Hubie Brown all fucking suck.
Hands down, lost all respect for my once favorite player. He is sooo hard to listen to because he is such a rockets homer and he gives Portland no love anymore.
Whoever the guy is who broadcasts Miami Heat home games is my least favorite..Hubie is right up there as well as Jon Barry and Reggie Miller..Mark Jackson is horrible..I thought in the past Magic Johnson and Bill Walton were hard on the ears too. I like Chris Webber, Marv Albert, Grant Hill, the former broadcaster Steve Kerr was one of my favorites. Steve Smith is ok. I still believe Brian Wheeler is a great great play by play guy. He's the voice of the Blazers for me.
Worst Local: - Bill Worrell/Clyde Drexler (Houston) - Hands down the whiniest broadcast team in all of the NBA. And it doesn't help that their voices are like nails on a chalkboard. -Boston's crew (although they've gotten somewhat tolerable now that the Celtics suck). Worst National: - Reggie Miller TNT - Mark Jackson ESPN - Jon Barry ESPN - Hubie Brown ESPN As for the best, I love any of TNT's play-by-play guys and ESPN's Mike Breen and Mike Tirico.
Toss up between Drexler and Hubie "okay, listen up alright, this is basketball, its a ball and a hoop okay? That is how he scored two points" Brown.
Who is the dude that starts out with everything as "So..."? Dick Stockton. He speaks in bullet points and is overall stale.
There are some really bad color guys on the radio broadcasts. I think the Pacers have one...not sure who he is. The Jazz have maybe the least biased broadcasting crew on the radio.
I like the Jazz too. And the Raptors I don't even listen to OKC or Houston broadcasts, so it's easy. Marc Jackson and Jon Barry are not color commentators... they are puppets... and really bad ones.
Also, one of my favorites on the radio side is the guy from the Wizards. I just love the way he says "he scores!" for either team... and he seems like a genuinely nice guy.
The guy I used to not care for was Johnny 'Redd' Kerr. Thought he was a big baby. And unfortunately, endured a lot of his games on WGN.
