I think it will be Mo Cheeks in Philly, he has tons of talent but his inability to run an offense outside of a fast break has been his downfall now that he has a post presence. Other Candidates are: Sam Mitchel in Toronto also severely under achieving even with Bosh having a MVP season. Mike Woodson even with the Hawks playing great if him and Josh Smith keep fighting and they hit a loosing streak I could see him gone. And Possibly Mike Dudleyvy down in LAC if this doesn't turn around by seasons end he might not be a Coach/GM much longer.
There's a difference between who SHOULD be fired and who will be fired. Dunleavy should definitely go, but he's just been promoted to GM, so... Dark horse candidate: Byron Scott. Not to be influenced by Bill Simmons or anything, but the Hornets were supposed to make the leap this year, and they just aren't. When will Kevin McHale be fired is also a perennial question.
I'd add Reggie Theus into that mix. Even though they don't have Kevin Martin, they're a team just stuck in a rut with nothing to look forward to in the future.
I heard that Theus' days are very numbered...I think they were talking about during the game down in Sac during the broadcast?
Cheeks is an interesting case... he's Mr. 76er, but he's coaching a team that's underachieving in a brutal, brutal city. If he were, say, Terry Porter, I'd guess he'd be gone first. But he's Mo Cheeks, and I bet the franchise will have some loyalty. Reggie Theus getting fired would be a joke, but I bet it's him. The Kings have his replacement all lined up and the team hasn't played well enough to remove all doubt of Theus's efficacy as a head coach. It sucks for him, but I vote for Theus. Ed O.
Sadly I think it's Theus too ... but mostly because the Maloofs strike me as impatient twats, runner-up has to be Sam Mitchell.
