I don't think Horford or Durant are gettable. Assuming that...

We will be a much improved team and I will be psyched if we get any of the following:
    Hassan Whiteside
    Dwight Howard
    Harrison Barnes
    Chandler Parsons

    Who's on your list?

note: permission to edit if I hear someone else I like.

If we could pull off a Whiteside/Parsons coup while resigning 2 of our 3 important free agents that would be considered a slam dunk for me.

I'd be happy with Whiteside/Ryan Anderson as well.

Do you even have a concept of how much cap space we have in reality? We would have to renounce everyone to maybe have enough money for that and that's a maybe.

    In this order:

    1. Whiteside
    2. D Howard
    3. Biyombo
    4. Parsons
    5. Barnes

These are the only free agents I would make offers to... If we miss out, plan B would be to sit out this free agency and look for trades... No other free agents are worth the cap room. Especially mediocre non-needle movers like Bazemore.

I don't. Its one aspect of basketball that I haven't a clue on.

How do teams like Cleveland have 3 max salary guys and still afford to throw around money to top tier role players? I was of the understanding we had the more cap space than any other team.

We don't have more cap space this summer and Cleveland isn't throwing around big money to top tier guys. They had massive cap space a couple summers ago and were able to sign Lebron and trade for Love then Kyries extension kicked in. We do have tons of cap space like many teams but in order to have it we have to let go of all our free agents. We have enough clear space to sign one maxish guy then keep our others.

    Plan A:

    Whiteside
    Horford
    Howard

    Plan B:
Trade (Giorgui Dieng or John Henson for me)

Teams over the cap can S&T players. You can sign your own players to get well into LT.

We could sign a top FA, then S&T Crabbe for a max player. The three RFAs can be signed to huge deals, extensions or as FA next year (though poison pill?).

Love opted out and Cleveland used bird rights to sign him for even more...

    Not really.

If we want Howard and Whiteside, we sign one, do S&T of the other. In fact, the FAs aren't all to consider. Any player can be traded to us if the price is right.

Except BYC gets in the way if we are sending Crabbe for example

Yep. Have to make the salaries on both sides big so byc is a small %. It's been done a few times. BYC is less of an impact if the other team has cap space.

I would't say they're "A List", but of the available FA options the only ones I'm interested in are:

    Whiteside
    Howard
    Sanders
    Marvin Williams
    Bazemore
